Beyoncé Buddies Up To Rita Ora At The Met Gala, Squashes Rumors That She Might Be ‘Becky’ Who Cheated With Jay-Z From ‘Lemonade’

Beyoncé made a huge statement at the Met Gala on Monday night. The Lemonade singer showed up to the event without her husband, Jay-Z, and then she shocked everyone by getting really cozy with Rita Ora. It didn’t matter that Rita had already denied that she was “Becky with the good hair” from the new Beyoncé song, called “I’m Sorry.” However, last night’s appearance together last night at the Met Gala proved that there is no beef between the two singers, despite some nagging rumors that Ora may have been one of Jay-Z’s other women.

Beyoncé and Rita Ora squashed all rumors that she might be the other woman sung about in “I’m Sorry” on Beyoncé’s new Lemonade visual album when they posed together for a selfie at the Met Gala, according to Vanity Fair. To further prove there is no bad blood between the women, Ora posted the selfie on Instagram and captioned the photo with “family.”

When Lemonade first came out, Rita Ora was named as a possible “Becky” alongside Rachel Roy, who had long been suspected of having an affair with Jay-Z. As a matter of fact, it was after the Met Gala two years ago when Solange Knowles was seen attacking Jay-Z in an after-party altercation in an elevator, and many believed the fight was about Rachel Roy.

When Beyoncé’s fans descended on Roy and Ora to accuse each of them of being “Becky” and trying to destroy Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s marriage, Rita Ora spoke out and denied the claims. On Twitter, Rita wrote, “I never usually address tabloid gossip, but let me be clear. These rumours are false. I have nothing but the utmost respect for Beyoncé. Let’s continue enjoying Lemonade.”

Despite her denials, Rita Ora was also accused of fanning the “Becky with the good hair” flames when the album first came out. When Beyoncé’s controversial album first dropped, Rita Ora posted a picture of herself on Snapchat where she was wearing a bra with lemons embroidered on it and a necklace with a letter “J” pendant. She certainly earned herself some publicity and some of the claims that she had to be Jay-Z’s other woman by posting that picture. Rita Ora’s Snapchat picture has since been deleted, but not before screenshots were taken and conclusions were drawn.

So, what does it mean that Beyoncé and Rita Ora were spotted together at the Met Gala and even took a selfie together to commemorate it? Was Beyoncé trying to stop the constant harassment of Ora without actually making a statement?

Even though Beyoncé showed up at the Met Gala without Jay-Z, it looked like she was having a great time and she didn’t look lonely at all. It’s unclear why Jay-Z wasn’t in attendance, but celebrities were happily taking pictures with Bey, and she was pretty busy catching up with her friends throughout the night.

It’s unclear why Jay-Z decided to ditch the Met Gala, but that didn’t slow Beyoncé down at all. Just like she usually does, Bey hit up the after-parties with her bodyguard and her stylist in tow. E! News reported that she caught up with her sister Solange and her husband at an after-party thrown by Balmain and Olivier Rousteing. They also reported that she sat down and had a drink with Rousteing before she was spotted chatting with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian.

With Beyoncé buddying up to Rita Ora at the Met Gala, it really looks like she is not “Becky,” if there even really is one. Also, why did Jay-Z bail on the highly anticipated “celebrity prom” and let his wife go alone? Does that mean that it has to be Rachel Roy, or is there someone else out there who has completely escaped the wrath of the Beyhive? Tell us what you think about Beyoncé and Rita’s selfie and what that means for Lemonade in the comments below.
