Yolanda Foster Defends Lyme Disease On Instagram Ahead Of Munchausen Chatter On ‘RHOBH’ Reunion

Yolanda Foster and her co-stars will be seen arguing about their statements regarding her Lyme disease on tonight’s final episode of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 6 reunion, but before they do, the former model sent a message to her fans and followers on Instagram.

Ahead of the new episode, Yolanda Foster took to social media where she spoke of her struggles with Lyme disease and the criticism surrounding her illness.

“Don’t be fooled by Chronic Lyme…….. #InvisibleIllnesses #LymeDiseaseAwarenessMonth #WeMustFindACure #affordableForAll,” Yolanda Foster wrote on Instagram on May 2, along with a photo of an iceberg, which was displayed to represent the hidden pain of the illness.

Because Yolanda Foster’s Lyme disease is “invisible,” as she stated in her post, there have been a number of questions regarding her illness on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and online.

Although Yolanda Foster didn’t seem to be in too much pain in the early stages of her Lyme disease, which were seen years ago on the show, the currently airing Season 6 saw a much different Yolanda Foster. Right away, many were confused by her social media stream of happy selfies and sick selfies.

During one of the first episodes of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 6, Yolanda Foster’s co-star Taylor Armstrong questioned why she was sick sometimes but appeared completely healthy other times. She also told Lisa Rinna that she didn’t want to see the IV photos she regularly shares on her Instagram page.

As the season continued, Lisa Rinna spoke of a claim made by her hairstylist, in which it was suggested that Yolanda Foster may be suffering from Munchausen syndrome, in which people claim to be suffering from illnesses to garner themselves sympathy and attention from others. While the cast has since made it clear that no one believes Yolanda Foster is faking her illness, the drama surrounding Rinna’s comment continued throughout the season and into the three-part reunion special.

Also causing drama during Season 6 was the end of Yolanda Foster’s marriage to husband David Foster. Although the couple was together at the start of the season, their marriage ultimately ended late last year. During the final two episodes of the show, Yolanda Foster and her co-stars were seen speaking of their split as well as what may have led to the breakup.

“The patient suffers, but the caretakers suffer too. Because life doesn’t only change for us, it changes for the person next to you,” Yolanda Foster said of her husband during her appearance on The Dr. Oz Show in early March, via Us Weekly.

“At the end of the day, David never changed, I changed,” Yolanda Foster continued. “Unfortunately, these are the cards that life dealt me. It wasn’t by choice. But I’m not the woman I used to be and I probably will never be again. My focus, my energy goes to trying to get well, trying to make a difference, trying to find a cure for my children … and David’s life is really traveling, going to concerts, loud music. And I mean, I couldn’t, I can barely listen to the radio.”

During last week’s reunion special, Yolanda Foster admitted that she and David would likely still be together if it wasn’t for her Lyme disease.
