‘Star Wars Episode VIII’ Leaked Photos Of Millenium Falcon Revealed While ‘Rogue One’ Flashbacks Show Original Characters

As photos were leaked of the Millenium Falcon in the latest Star Wars episode, the first anthology movie promised the return of some favorite characters from the original trilogy. Rogue One will be the next movie to be released in December 2016, while Episode VIII premieres in December 2017. Disney plans to release a new movie each year through 2020, and plans for additional anthology movies have been rumored.

The Independent reported that the latest leak for Star Wars Episode VIII is a little more ordinary than previous leaks. One of the latest leaks featured a cantina scene aboard a yacht, while this leak features photos of the Millenium Falcon, Han Solo’s ship.

The scenes appear to come from Skellig Michael, the location used at the end of The Force Awakens. Fans last saw the scenery at the end of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, when Daisy Ridley’s character Rey found Luke Skywalker at the original Jedi Temple on the planet Ahch-To.

While some of the photos look like they are from Ahch-To, others show the Millenium Falcon in what appears to be a hanger bay, a different location for Luke Skywalker and Rey. Few details of Episode VIII have been released, and so fans have little idea of the latest episode’s plot.

HNGN reported that some of the iconic figures from the original Star Wars trilogy will make an appearance in the anthology movie Star Wars: Rogue One. Danish actor Mads Mikkelson, who portrayed Hannibal Lector on television and often plays bad guys, hinted that this tidbit in an interview he gave. He also said that he’s not really playing a bad guy this time, but his character is important to the story.

Although few details have been released about Rogue One, which is not set to premiere until December 2016, a brief description of the movie was released. Fans will get to see the rebels try to steal the plans for the Death Star and prevent the Empire from destroying the Rebel Alliance.

Although Mikkelson said that some of the characters from the original trilogy would make an appearance, he didn’t reveal which ones.

“Some of them – but I would reveal too much. There are iconic characters in our film and also characters you have never heard of. It’s a mix.”

There is a possibility that both Darth Vader and Grand Moff Tarkin will make an appearance in the latest movie, but there has been no confirmation yet as to which of the original characters will reappear. Mikkelson revealed that he is portraying the father of Jyn Erso. Rumors have it that Mikkelson’s character may also be one of the primary designers of the Death Star.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, new material released by the studio hinted that there may be a relationship between one of the characters in Star Wars: Rogue One and another character in the The Force Awakens. Jyn Erso, portrayed by actress Felicity Jones, may be the grandmother of Daisy Ridley’s character Rey. Due to the Star Wars timeline, it would be impossible for Erso to be Rey’s mother, but the possibility exists that they may be related.

Fans will have to wait until December to solve the mystery, but in the meantime, General Leia’s story is available in the latest Star Wars novel Bloodlines. Told from the point of the view of the former princess, it reveals some of the events that take place in the 30 years after The Return of the Jedi and before The Force Awakens.
