Madonna Steals Met Gala Attention With A Combo ‘Mad Max’ And ‘Game Of Thrones’ Ensemble

Madonna steals the red carpet of the Met Gala, eclipsing even fashion icon Lady Gaga with her stunning outfit. People reports that “Roar ” singer Katy Perry has feared that Gaga will slay the red carpet by arriving in a drone. Yet Gaga turns out looking helpless as her long-time nemesis ends up owning the evening.

By effectively shutting down the red carpet, an honor usually accorded to young star Selena Gomez, the “Material Girl” singer has proven that she is still very much around in celebrity and fashion hot spots. Madonna is considered the most successful musician in history.

With the Met Gala showdown over and dealt with, the verdict left on the floor is that Lady Gaga is no longer the fashion trendsetter that she used to be. The “Born This Way” singer seems to have lost her edge ever since she found true love.

Accordingly, the Met Gala becomes the venue that finally settles the score in the protracted Madonna-Gaga wars with a verdict in favor of the one who is deemed the senior in the music industry league. Apparently, inhaling pure oxygen ritually at the start of her day has helped Madge stay on top of the game. Madonna, after all, has an $800 million net worth as a musician.

The legendary Prince has permanently vacated the industry and Cher is nowhere to be found. Apparently, her last farewell concert was, indeed, her last one. There is a running joke in the industry that in the event of a nuclear meltdown, only these two will survive: cockroaches and Cher.

Well, the joke failed miserably to factor in Madonna, the antique of the music industry who has made the most money by utilizing an odd cocktail of musical talent, shrewd business acumen, and a very strong fashion sense. Madonna may still be having parental custody issues with regard to her son, Rocco. So she has proven that women are true champions at multitasking at whatever age.

“Experience has made me rich and now they’re after me,” goes Madonna’s signature song. Well, it is now obvious that experience does carry a lot of weight toward longevity in the entertainment business.

Just one look at the Billboard coverage of the Met Gala, and it is obvious that the source can’t seem to get enough of Madonna that night. The Pop Princess and Queen all rolled into one must have summoned her inner Game of Thrones in her outfit. No doubt, the singer’s Kabbala background might have helped a lot in perfecting that Mother of Dragons look with a hint of Mad Max, or is it, Madge Max?

Too bad, Charlize Theron is nowhere to be found that night. However, it does help that Justin Bieber has recently decided to shed his dreadlocks hairstyle too soon. For honestly, it does look better on Madonna what with that silver fortune-teller-inspired pendant on her forehead.

Now who deserves the credit for this massive fashion success? Madonna, of course, is one of them. Let’s face it, there’s always a team behind this. Madonna only makes the decisions. So let’s turn to Yahoo and the Hollywood Reporter for the answers.

“Hairstylist Andy LeCompte had roots in the ‘Manus x Machina’ directive. The theme is all about technology, and we interpreted that to be very futuristic, so we created this android look and styled Madonna as a future road warrior – we wrapped her up in tape to create this bold, wiry look.”

From the get-go, that certainly sounds like a plan, although the execution is sometimes totally another matter. In this case, everything worked to perfection and there were no faux pas akin to the Jennifer Lawrence Oscar incident. It must be told, however, that presentation or strutting the style is as important as the style itself. And from the looks of it, Madonna has, indeed, ridden, not slain her dragon, to perfection in keeping with the Game of Thrones rhetoric.

Under the nose of her evil stepsisters, Cinderella has managed to show up at the Met charity ball, too, her resplendent and glowing gown faithful to the night’s dress theme. And yet it is the stepmother figure, Madonna, and not Claire Danes, who steals the show.
