Soulja Boy Signs $400M Deal? Rapper Brags On Twitter

Soulja Boy announced on Twitter that he has signed a $400 million deal. However, it remains unclear whether the declaration is true or not.

The series of tweets by the rapper were up on Twitter on May 1 at around 1:31 A.M. and continued until 2:02 A.M. The first tweet from Soulja Boy said: “F@%k everybody who doubted me I’m Finna change my number.”

He then went on to give a shout out to Beyonce, whom he referred to as the queen. He used the hashtags “#Lemonade” and “#holdup” in his second tweet. Hold Up is one of the songs on Beyonce’s Lemonade album, for which Soulja Boy received a writer’s credit.

The full credits for Lemonade surfaced shortly after the 12-track album was dropped on Tidal. Soulja Boy was then given credit for the aforementioned song via his birth name, Deandre Way. Other people on the credits are The-Dream for the song 6-Inch, as well as Andre 3000 and Big Boi who contributed to All Night.

The rapper’s big Twitter announcement came a few minutes thereafter. The whole tweet read: “$400 million deal confirmed. I still they think they low balled me though. I was thinking 2 or 3 billion.”

He followed it up with another tweet saying that CBS, Fox, and Forbes have been competing to have his story. It was unclear though if he meant his life story or the account behind his tweet regarding the supposed $400 million deal.

Aside from his tweets, the rapper also took to Instagram to post photos of himself holding some cash.

“From being worth 25 million at 25 to being offered 400million and closing out the deal? Just think about where I came from no man seriously!” he captioned his Instagram photo.

Soulja Boy has had other business ventures in the past such as SBeezy Lights, Soulja Board-branded hoverboards. He also has the official Soulja Boy app that allows people to chat with him.

The rapper from Atlanta has become a success after he released his song Crank That (Soulja Boy) in 2007 at the age of 17. Three years later, he landed on the Forbes’ list of Hip Hop Cash Kings in 2010 for earning over $7 million dollars for that year alone.

According to reports, the rapper has made millions of dollars from ringtone sales and is mostly still receiving publishing royalties from his 2007 hit song.

Soulja Boy, however, has not dropped any major project since his 2010 The DeAndre Way. He remains to be relevant in the music scene through mixtapes and indie albums from the previous years. He also appeared on the popular VH1 series Love & Hip Hop.

It seems that Soulja Boy has been trying to reshape the image he has made in the past years. Back in December, he removed some of his face tattoos. Many are even saying that it was his move to shape his image to a more corporate feel that possibly led the supposed $400 million deal.

Details about the deal are yet to emerge.

Soulja Boy is currently on a European tour. He also announced that there will be another album coming, which will possibly be out this June 1. The new musical offering is entitled Better Late Than Never.

There are speculations that details about the multi-dollar deal will be out to coincide with the release of his new album. The talks were based on the rapper’s statement that he will soon reveal more information about his latest announcement.

Soulja Boy recently performed in Germany where he said that he had “good vibes” in the country. He is now on his way to Paris.
