‘Bates Motel’ Season 4: Who’s That Sleeping In Norma’s Bed? [Spoilers]

Bates Motel Season 4 is quickly coming to a close. In this week’s episode, Norma and Norman appear to be sleeping in the same bed, yet again. Blame it on the chill in the air. Where is the good Sheriff Romero when you need him?

As you can see, in this week’s promo video, the tension between Norman and his new stepfather is quickly building. From the looks of things, Alex has no plans of leaving the grounds of the Bates Motel… unless it’s in a body bag. Let’s face it, trying to get Norman to believe in the positive aspects of change isn’t going to be easy.

“Thank you for everything that you’ve done for me. You and my mother can get a divorce.”

A recent Inquisitr post discussed the fact that Norma is all for change. She’s falling deeper in love with Romero and is the proud co-owner of new curtains and a big-screen TV. Thanks to Bob Paris’ dirty money, renovations are almost certain for Bates Motel as well.

Speaking of renovations, the promo video also shows Norman making some of his own alterations. Who knew drywall was so easy to hack into? If Norma hasn’t considered hiding all of the sharp objects by now, this would be the perfect time to do so.

From the looks of things, Norman and Emma are going to play catch up this week. So much has happened since they last spent time together. Emma has new lungs and a new boyfriend. Norman, who killed her mother, just got out of the loony bin. Do you honestly think they’ll be able to pick up where they left off?

Die-hard fans are, no doubt, beginning to panic. The demise of Norma Bates is certain… or is it? According to Show Biz Junkies, there’s a chance the ending of Bates Motel will be different than that of the movie it’s based on.

During a recent conference call with executive producer Carlton Cuse, he hinted to the fact things could very well turn out differently.

“You know, Kerry and I, we certainly don’t think it would be rewarding to deliver up to the audience the exact same ending of our show that you saw in the movie. However, the tension of all great tragedies is sort of this idea of you’re hoping against hope that characters don’t meet their inevitable fate. The tension of what you should or shouldn’t expect is something that we’re very aware of. We want you to feel that tension, but I certainly don’t want to tell you how we’re planning to pay it out.”

In the same interview, Cuse was asked how much the storyline of Bates Motel has changed from his and Kerry’s original version. He mentioned the relationships between Dylan and Emma, and Norma and Romero.

Basically, both of these relationships were “ramped up” due to the off-camera chemistry of both couples. Dylan loving Emma wasn’t planned from the beginning. Just like real life, things just started to happen, which makes it all the more believable. Don’t you think?

What do you think is going to happen this week on Bates Motel? Do you think Norman will drive the good Sheriff away? Do you think Norma will put her foot down and tell Norman she’s really happy and he needs to learn to deal with it. Feel free to leave your comments regarding Bates Motel below.
