Drake’s ‘Views’ Album Artwork Resembles A ‘GTA’ Loading Screen, Fans Beg For ‘GTA 6’ Feature

Drake is no stranger when it comes to Internet memes, with his acting days in Degrassi, various courtside facial expressions, and “Hotline Bling” dance moves all inspiring their own collection of reaction-based photos, so it’s no surprise that when Drake unveiled the album artwork for his highly anticipated Views album on Friday, fans wasted no time in creating the latest round of hilarious Drake-inspired memes.

Within hours of Views‘ exclusive Apple Music release on Friday, fans took to Twitter to flex their creative Photoshop skills by creating a variety of Drake-inspired memes based on the album’s digital booklet artwork. While the majority of the memes aimed to poke fun at Views‘ cover art, which features Drake sitting atop Toronto’s iconic CN Tower, one clever fan took to Twitter to point out the similarities between Views‘ digital booklet artwork and that of Grand Theft Auto V‘s loading screens, ultimately prompting a flood of GTA-inspired Drake memes to emerge on social media.

“Drake Album artwork look like a GTA loading screen,” one fan wrote on Twitter alongside three photos taken from Views‘ digital booklet.

The post, which has since garnered over 12,000 retweets on Twitter, instantly sparked conversation about the similarities between Views‘ album artwork and that of the loading screens that appear on GTA 5, prompting some fans to even go so far as to create their own Drake-inspired versions of a mock cover for the video game’s impending sixth installment.

The Drake and GTA mashup memes even prompted one fan to create a petition for the game’s sixth installment to be set in Drake’s native Toronto, revealing, “I made a petition for GTA 6 in Toronto off the views promotional pictures *laughing-crying emoji*.”

While fans continue to draw inspiration from Views‘ album artwork to help create the next round of Drake memes, the rapper recently opened up about his love for Internet memes in an interview with Instagram just days after the album’s release, Hip Hop DX reports.

“I have become the most memed person aside from the Michael Jordan crying face,” Drake explained to the social media site. “I love that I’m the guy that doesn’t take himself too seriously. I like laughing even if it’s at my expense.”

The rapper continues, “It doesn’t feel like it’s necessarily malicious or hurtful stuff. I’m conscious of it. Even with the If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late cover, when everyone took the font—that’s just our culture right now. I really enjoy it more than watching television. It brings joy to my life, and I hope it brings joy to other people’s lives too.”

In fact, Drake’s love for Internet memes even inspired the rapper to release his own app that assists fans in creating their own versions of his Views album cover, which Drake himself used to help announce the various guest features that appear on the track list for Views.

While some fans have already begun speculating over a possible Drake and Grand Theft Auto collaboration for the video game’s sixth installment, it looks like there will be no shortage of Drake-inspired memes to come in the near future.
