Now that One Direction is on extended hiatus, many believe that Harry Styles is set to forge his path in Hollywood. There are reports claiming that Cara Delevingne was one of the few people who urged Harry to try acting. The model allegedly introduced the British crooner to her own agent, Sharon Jackson.
Harvey Weinstein previously offered Harry a role in Tulip Fever, which also starred Cara. However, he couldn't commit that time because of the band's intense touring schedule. With the band's decision to go on break since late last year, surely the boys have plenty of time to try things they've been meaning to do.
"I'm not sure but I've heard from a few people in LA who've seen him -- agents and casting directors -- that he's a good actor, which is interesting."At New York City's Fan Fright Fest last October, Ryan Murphy revealed that a "big male pop star" would join Season 2. He didn't say who it was for -- he joked that the big guys would kill him. Five months later, during the show's PaleyFest panel, Scream Queens co-creator Brad Falchuk said that Lea Michele's character, Hester, would have a love interest in the show's next season. The Glee actress interrupted him and asked if it would be Harry.
"If it's Harry Styles, everybody better calm down, I love One Direction. Everybody knows this. I'm also thinking that he should be in the 'Wicked' movie. He's our modern day Mick Jagger."Apart from Nick and Leah, Danny DeVito also has high hopes for Harry. The two met when Danny appeared in the band's 2014 "Steal My Girl" music video. He described the 22-year-old as a "natural."
"The big thing I told (One Direction) when they were breaking up was that they should take all their money and get some acting lessons. I am delighted for Harry."Harry's only confirmed movie appearance to date is in Dunkirk, a World War II film that will hit silver screens in 2017. Christopher Nolan, who helmed The Dark Knight and Interstellar, is directing the film. Harry's part in the film is allegedly the reason why he had to cut his infamous locks.
Recently, Harry's father, Des, took to Twitter to confirm that the singer's working on something major. "United in final, H has great movie role so I'm back! Had nothin to say after 1D took a break, back now. What are you saying about Dunkirk? X," he wrote.
The tweet, however, was deleted, but it definitely didn't escape the eyes of eager fans.
The initial announcement of One Direction is to reunite in 2017, but such plan appears to be uncertain because the boys allegedly love the freedom to separately work on their passion projects.
Harry, who is currently signed with manager Jeffrey Azoff, is reportedly determined to make a mark in Hollywood.
"Harry is signed to Jeffrey and they are working on a very serious plan to make his music and movie career a big deal. Jeffrey is determined to make Harry a superstar as he believes he has the popularity and talent to be the next Justin Timberlake."Nonetheless, fans are still holding on to the boys' promise that they will return.
