Watch Yorkshire Vs. Nottinghamshire Cricket Live Stream Free: Joe Root, England Stars Return To County Championship

Some of the top England cricket stars return to the Specsavers County Championship this week, and it all kicks off in a match that will stream live, legally and for free, from Trent Bridge in Nottingham as Yorkshire takes on Nottinghamshire in Day One of their Week Three, four-day match, starting Sunday morning.

Joe Root will be back in action for Yorkshire after a 20-month hiatus during which he shot to international stardom as the most dangerous batsman across all three international formats for the England side.

Root will be joined in the Yorkshire XI by England wicket keeper Jonny Bairstow, who struck his personal record 246 in his innings against Hampshire.

Nottinghamshire also feature a pair of England standouts, with veteran pacer Stuart Broad bowling for Nottinghamshire, while national team opener Alex Hales plays his first match of the season for the county side.

Watch highlights of Hales piling up a remarkable innings of 222 not out in an April 2015 match between Notts and Yorkshire, in the video below.

Yorkshire is the two-time defending champion in Division One of the annual England and Wales County Cricket competition. But after two matches, Nottinghamshire sits in second place on the table with one win and one loss, with Yorkshire third having drawn both of their first two contests.

Nottinghamshire defeated Surrey by three wickets and fell to Lancashire by eight wickets. Yorkshire drew with Hampshire — after posting a first innings total of 593 declared — and then again with Warwickshire, whose 36 points from three drawn games place them at the top of the table.

To find out how to watch a live stream of the four day Yorkshire vs. Nottinghamshire Week Three Specsavers County Championship cricket match for free and fully legally, see the streaming information in the final paragraph of this article. First ball is scheduled for 11 a.m. British Summer Time at Trent Bridge in Nottingham, England, on Sunday, May 1. For cricket fans in the United States, that’s 6 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time, 3 a.m. Pacific.

The following three days of the Yorkshire vs. Nottinghamshire first class cricket match, if all three days are required, will also stream live online for free.

Root will be making his first appearance for Yorkshire since captaining the team to their first County Championship title in 13 years back in September of 2014. But the 25-year-old right-hand batsman — who also serves as a part-time off break bowler — worries that the team will find no spot for him in the lineup.

“It’s great to be back involved, a lot of the guys I’ve known since being a really young lad and I’ve grown up learning the game with so it’s nice to be in the same dressing room with them again and playing competitive cricket again,” Root said.

“Looking at the side at the minute, I’m trying to see where I’ll fit into the team. Honestly, there’s a lot of guys scoring runs and playing really good cricket. You almost think, is it worth upsetting that for a couple of games?”

The match will be Root’s first since England’s heartbreaking, last-over defeat to West Indies in the final of the ICC T20 Cricket World Cup at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, India, on April 3.
