Hope Solo: Maksim Chmerkovskiy Was Physically Abusive On ‘DWTS’

In her new book, Hope Solo claims that Maksim Chmerkovskiy was physically abusive throughout their partnership on Dancing with the Stars.

Solo claims that Chmerkovskiy frequently shoved her during rehearsals and even slapped her across the face.

Here’s a passage from Solo: A Memoir of Hope:

“He manhandled me in rehearsals from the start, pushing me, whacking my stomach, bending my arms roughly. I thought that was just hot it went – how dancers worked with each other… But it kept getting worse. One day, Maks was trying to put me in a certain position and hit my stomach so hard with his open palm that I had a red handprint there for the rest of the day.”

According to Fox News, Solo talked to ABC about the incident, and the station gave her the option of switching partners. The Olympic soccer player chose to stay with Maks, however, saying that it would have “ended his career” if she chose to leave.

Chmerkovskiy hasn’t responded directly to the accusations, but he did post a cryptic message on Twitter that may have been referring to Hope Solo and her claims:

Chmerkovskiy isn’t the only person that Hope Solo claims was abusive with her. The soccer star also claims in her book that her former coach Greg Ryan shoved her in 2007. Ryan denies the accusation.
