Amy Duggar And Her Husband Filming Mystery Project As ‘Jill & Jessa: Counting On’ Finale Approaches

Amy Duggar’s famous cousins could bid adieu to their television careers for good after the Jill & Jessa: Counting On finale airs, but Amy might be preparing to return to TV.

According to Us Weekly, the Jill & Jessa: Counting On season finale airs next Tuesday on TLC. The Inquisitr previously reported that many longtime fans are tiring of the series’ overuse of old footage from previous shows, and TLC’s struggle to film enough new material to fill an entire episode of the show isn’t the only sign that it’s in trouble.

Last month, TLC General Manager Nancy Daniels told FOX411 that TLC currently doesn’t have any plans to work with the Duggars beyond this season of Jill & Jessa: Counting On. Companies have also been pulling their advertisements from the Duggar family’s new series.

Amy Duggar has been noticeably missing on Counting On, but her absence from the show has nothing to do with being camera shy. In fact, Amy Duggar recently revealed that she and her husband, Dillon King, are filming a mysterious new project. She made the announcement in the April 27 Instagram photo below.

Amy’s followers flooded her post with questions about what she and Dillon are filming in California, but the couple said that they cannot divulge any details about their new project at this time.

“We are excited! That’s all we can really say,” Amy wrote in response to their queries.

Amy Duggar revealed that she and Dillon King visited Six Flags Magic Mountain during their Cali trip, and she spent some time hanging out with a makeup artist named Haley Coats. According to Coats’ Instagram page, she has done makeup for Sharknado 4 and the Lifetime movie Break-Up Nightmare. However, Coats might not be involved with the project that Duggar and King are working on. In response to a follower’s question about how she knows Amy Duggar, the makeup artist revealed that she’s been friends with Amy for a long time.

“We are from the same town! She just randomly showed up in my hot tub one night a few years ago and been friends since,” Coats wrote.

Because TLC has been using so much old footage on Jill & Jessa: Counting On, some viewers might be wondering why Amy Duggar and Dillon King haven’t been featured on the show. Instead of recapping Jessa Duggar’s romance with Ben Seewald, TLC could have done a segment on Amy and Dillon’s engagement and wedding. And instead of re-showing clips of the adult Duggar children talking about Josh Duggar’s cheating scandal, TLC could have asked Amy and Dillon to share their thoughts about Josh’s behavior. However, Amy and Dillon might not be interested in working with TLC anymore.

Amy Duggar appeared on multiple episodes of 19 Kids and Counting, and she even scored a special about her dream of becoming a country music star. However, Amy’s relationship with TLC started to sour last summer after the network decided not to film a special focused on her September wedding. As Radar Online reports, Dillon King shared a bitter Instagram post about TLC’s decision.

“TLC [called] us yesterday stating they have decided that they will NOT be filming our wedding and they are ‘glad they got to work with us’,” King wrote. “So, Amy and myself apologize that we will not be able to share our special day with you all on the TLC network.”

Dillon King and Amy Duggar received this bad news not long after Amy’s family members found out that TLC had decided to cancel 19 Kids and Counting. A few months later, the network brought most of the Duggars back for the Jill & Jessa: Counting On specials and the subsequent series of the same name, which is a decision that Amy and Dillon did not agree with. According to Radar Online, they specifically took issue with the presence of Josh Duggar’s wife, Anna Duggar, on Counting On.

“It looks like they are using all the emotion for ratings,” Dillon told In Touch Weekly last December. “It’s just not right.”

According to the Hollywood Gossip, Amy Duggar and Dillon King have denied that either of them is the “family source” who has been leaking stories about Anna and Josh to the tabloids. However, Amy has given multiple interviews about Josh’s scandals, and her willingness to talk about her famous family scored her a People magazine cover back in February.

Some fans are speculating that Amy Duggar and Dillon King aren’t finished spilling the tea on the Duggar family and are in California to film a tell-all interview about her aunt, uncle, and cousins. What do you think?
