Kylie Jenner Describes Herself As An ‘Inspiration’ To Young Girls — Twitter Reacts

Kylie Jenner is describing herself as an “inspiration,” and Twitter isn’t exactly thrilled about it.

Jenner made the remarks about herself in the June issue of Glamour UK, where the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star revealed that she considers herself to be a feminist and hasn’t relied on her mom and manager, Kris Jenner, financially for the past five years.

“I haven’t had a dollar of my mom’s money in five years,” Kylie recently told Glamour, admitting that she pays for everything herself since she began earning her own cash in 2011.

“Ever since I started earning my own money, I’ve paid for everything: all my cars, houses, clothes, everything,” Jenner continued. “I like to know exactly what’s going on and I’m actually quite careful with what I spend.”

Kylie then went on to reveal in the magazine that she doesn’t “depend on a man or anybody else,” which she believes makes her “an inspiration” for young girls around the world.

“I make my own money and start my own businesses, and I feel like I’m an inspiration for a lot of young girls who want to stand on their own,” Kylie revealed in the June issue of the British magazine.

But while Kylie Jenner may think she’s an inspiration, in turns out that a slew of social media users don’t actually agree with Kylie’s latest claims.

A number of Twitter users took to the social media site to blast Kylie for her “inspiration” remarks, tweeting some pretty scathing messages about the reality star turned make-up mogul following her latest interview quotes.

“Kylie Jenner calling herself an inspiration is a complete joke,” Twitter user @LissLoveCat tweeted after excerpts from Jenner’s Glamour interview hit the web, while @beanzbabe88 wrote “bahaha! Every 17 year old should get plastic surgery, wear s****y clothes and date a 27 year old with a kid!”

@jennicolepalmer also slammed Kylie on social media, tweeting out “inspiring girls to not be satisfied with their appearance and to get plastic surgery to ‘fix’ themselves?” and ?@senoritav76 noted, “She has a platform [because] Kim had sex on camera & got a tv show out of it. Forgive me if I don’t think she’s the new Gloria Steinem.”

But the scathing Twitter remarks didn’t stop there.

“So dressing like a skank is now “inspirational”?” @MusicianGirl hit back, while @Mrskatiehiggins tweeted that Kylie’s Glamour remarks were “f****** comical. She couldn’t be an inspiration if she let her lips deflate and educated herself. Give me a break.”

But it wasn’t all bad news for Kylie Jenner, as a number of the reality star’s biggest fans rushed to Jenner’s defense on the 140-character site.

“Queen @KylieJenner you are my inspiration,” @KrissianyC tweeted Kylie following her Glamour magazine interview. Twitter user @KhawajFarah told Jenner that she was her inspiration simply for putting up with all the hate she receives from social media users on a daily basis.

“@KylieJenner u r my inspiration for putting up with such people..:(” the Twitter fan wrote on April 29.

Jenner has so far stayed mum on the backlash following her latest interview remarks, though the star did take to Instagram to show off the magazine’s cover and a page from inside the publication on the photo sharing site earlier this week.

“@glamouruk June Cover,” Kylie wrote alongside the photo, before following up her initial photo with a snap from inside the magazine that reads, “It’s about being who you are. If people can’t accept that, too bad,” which Jenner simple captioned “@glamouruk.”
