‘Fear The Walking Dead’: Is Romance On The Cards In Season 2?

As Fear The Walking Dead enters its second season, fans are already speculating on romantic relationships between the eight survivors on board the Abigail. Let’s have a look at who might hook up this season and who fans would like to get together.

SPOILER ALERT: This article speculates on Season 2 of AMC’s Fear The Walking Dead. Please proceed with caution if you wish to avoid potential spoilers.

Alicia and Chris

Episode 2 of Fear The Walking Dead saw a moment between the two step siblings that had fans speculating at just how long it would be before these two hooked up. But it has been more than just this one glance. In Season 1 of Fear The Walking Dead, the pair got drunk and dressed up in their neighbor’s finery leading to the pair getting to know each other a little better. While nothing has happened between the pair yet, it seems it could be just a matter of time for these two.

Ofelia and the Clarks

While it appears there has not been a lot of interaction between Ofelia and Alicia, a recent episode in Fear The Walking Dead saw Ofelia and Nick (Frank Dillane) getting friendly when Nick offered to tend to Ofelia’s wound.

However, it seems AMC may have been getting ready to ship Ofelia with another Clark; Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey). According to Mercedes Mason, some scenes between the pair have been cut from Season 1 and 2 of Fear The Walking Dead. When these scenes were released afterwards, fans noted the chemistry between Alicia and Ofelia. So could Mercedes see Ofelia hooking up with Alicia? Mercedes didn’t say definitively to Entertainment Weekly when they interviewed her recently, but she did note that the fan base was fairly evenly split between Ofelia hooking up with either of the Clark siblings.

“Either with Alicia or with Nick. And I think because there have been some scenes cut with Alicia and Ofelia — which, I don’t know if it wise time-wise or they changed the idea of where the story was going, but some of those scenes were released — so I think the fans were like, ‘Oh my God, look at the chemistry between the two.’ And now with Nick as well.”

Madison and Strand

Hang on, isn’t Madison (Kim Dickens) happily married to Travis (Cliff Curtis)? She sure is, but some fans are starting to ship Madison with Victor Strand (Colman Domingo) thanks to Travis’ wishy-washy personality. However, considering how the pair didn’t see eye to eye at the end of Episode 3 of Fear The Walking Dead, perhaps this relationship has burned its bridge before even crossing it. And, according to Fear’s showrunner, Dave Erickson, tempers will flare even further thanks to Strand cutting Alex lose in Episode 3.

Strand and Someone Else

However, rumors are starting to spread about Strand’s sexuality. According to The Spoiling Dead, an apparent source has stated Episode 4 of Fear The Walking Dead will reveal the fact Victor Strand is gay. The source also claims Strand will send Nick ashore to meet up with Strand’s boyfriend, Luis Flores. As yet, IMDb does not have a character listed by the name Luis, although there is a character called Carlos that is supposed to appear in 12 episodes of Season 2 of Fear, so maybe this is who they are talking about. However, at the moment, this is entirely speculation and only by tuning into Episode 4 will we find out if this rumor is true or not.

Alex and Jake

Even though Strand cut Alex (Michelle Ang) and Jake (Brendan Meyer) free at the end of Episode 3 of Fear The Walking Dead, IMDb has changed the listing for Alex from one episode to 13 episodes. Jake, however, is still listed as only appearing in one episode–so make of that what you will. However, if Alex (who used to be called Charlie in the miniseries, Flight 462) turns up back on the Abigail, could she end up getting friendly with one of the other survivors? Only time will tell.
