Four boys aged 9 to 14 charged with raping 8 year old girl

Four boys in the Phoenix, AZ area are charged with sexually assaulting an 8 year old girl.

The boys, 9, 10, 13 and 14 years old, were playing with the girl and lured her into a shed by promising to give her chewing gum. Someone in the area called police after suspecting something was going on and when police arrived, they caught the boys running away from the area. They also found the girl in the shed, half naked and crying.

The boys are charged as follows: The 14 year old was charged as an adult on Wednesday with 2 counts of sexual assault and kidnapping. The 9, 10 and 13 year olds have been charged as minors with sexual assault. The 13 year old is also charged with kidnapping.

The girl’s parents are refugees from Liberia and have shunned the girl because it’s their belief that when a girl is raped it brings shame to the whole family.

According to police sergeant Andy Hill:

“The father told the case worker and an officer in her presence that he didn’t want her back. He said ‘Take her, I don’t want her.'”

It’s hard to figure out who is more cruel in this situation – the boys who raped the girl, or her father.
