Kim Richards At Serious Risk Of Jail Time For Skipping AA Meetings

Kim Richards had a really bad 2015, but 2016 could be even worse. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star is now facing jail time in her shoplifting case because she reportedly hasn’t fulfilled her plea deal obligations. According to TMZ, a bench warrant has been assigned by a judge and Richards’ bail is already set for $26,000. TMZ’s report reveals that Richards has failed to provide documentation proving that she has attended court-ordered Alcoholics Anonymous meetings or that she fulfilled any of her required hours of community labor.

After her arrest last year, Kim was given three years probation and was told that she must attend 52 AA classes and do 30 days of community labor. At the time, Kim Richards said a foot injury was preventing her from doing the labor. Now, the judge is reportedly requiring documentation that Kim has fulfilled her obligations, and if she doesn’t ante up, the mom-of-four could get jail time.

A source told Radar Online that Richards initially attended daily AA meetings in West Hollywood, but that she has not been to any meetings for “quite some time.” Richards also skipped her L.A. court appearance earlier this week, and that’s when the judge issued the warrant. Kim Richards did show up in court today to try to get the warrant recalled, and she is due to face the judge again in June.

The news about Kim Richards is especially troubling because she seems to be doing really well with her sobriety. Kim’s recent appearance on the Real Housewives reunion showed her looking well, and in recent interviews, she doesn’t seem to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

That may not have been the case last fall when Richards was arrested at a California Target store. E! News reported that Kim was charged with a misdemeanor after she walked out of a Van Nuys Target with a cart full of toys. The former child star was released on $5,000 bail after spending the night in jail.

Kim’s shoplifting arrest came just a few months after she was arrested for causing a disturbance at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Kim was booked on multiple charges after the incident, including public intoxication, trespassing, resisting an officer, and battery of a police officer after she allegedly kicked a police officer in the leg. Richards was later placed in a holding cell for the night.

Kim detailed her arrest on an episode of the Dr. Phil Show, but she became agitated with Dr. Phil and walked out. She later appeared with her daughter, Kimberly, on the Lifetime reality show The Mother Daughter Experiment: Celebrity Edition.

Despite the fact that has appeared on several reality shows this year, Kim Richards has been rather private about her sobriety this time around. Richards didn’t go into detail about her recovery during the RHOBH reunion, saying she wanted to keep it to herself. But in a post on Bravo.com, Kim went on to thank fans for their support and prayers, and she added that she has spent the past few months taking care of herself and her ex-husband Monty, who died of lung cancer earlier this year.

“I was really focusing on myself, my family and taking care of my best friend,” Kim wrote.

Real Housewives fans want to believe that Kim is doing better, and based on recent interviews, she seems to be staying on track. But if she’s not attending the required meetings she’s putting herself at risk for jail time and no one wants to see that happen.
