Free Games For PlayStation Plus Members This May 2016 Include Three PS4 Titles

The official lineup for May 2016 free games for PlayStation Plus members has been unleashed. PlayStation Blog shared the PS4, PS3 and PS Vita titles available for no cost at all next month.

PS4 owners with PlayStation Plus membership will be able to get Tropico 5 for free this May. The construction and management simulation game from game developer Haemimont Games and publisher Kalypso Media was initially released May 2014. The island dictator sim game features El Presidente, the “long-running virtual dictator,” according to the PlayStation’s blog site.

The game received a Metascore of 76 from Metacritic and a critic review from PSX-Sense cited on the website noted that Tropico’s debut on PlayStation console is a great one. It further said that the fifth iteration “is a wonderful city builder, the mechanics of which are well-adapted to the PlayStation 4.”

The two other PS4 free games for PlayStation Plus members included in the May 2016 list are Table Top Racing: World Tour and Switch Galaxy Ultra. The former is set to launch on PS4 on May 3, and will be free for PS Plus subscribers for the entire month. The micro-combat racing game was developed and published by indie studio Playrise Digital.

Commenting on the game’s PS4 launch, Nick Burcombe, Playrise Digital CEO and Game Director of Table Top Racing said, “We’re delighted to finally release Table Top Racing: World Tour on PlayStation 4, it’s been an amazing adventure to get to this launch!” As posted on the official PlayRise Digital website, he added:

“We can’t wait to see what the players will think of our brand new game, it’s free for PS+ subscribers for one month, so we’re really looking forward to getting feedback and no doubt seeing some seriously competitive online racing when the game hits next week!”

On the other hand, the latter, Switch Ultra Galaxy, is a cross-buy title, which means gamers will also get the PS Vita version of the game. The “hyperkinetic arcade racer” was developed by Atomicom Limited, according to Gamespot, and it takes the players “on a top-speed adventure with the potential to be a welcome retro throwback.” The game offers high-quality audio and stunning visuals, according to Metacritic.

Also, part of the lineup for May 2016 free games for PS Plus members is the PS Vita title, God Of War: Ghost of Sparta, a third person action-adventure video game released in 2010. Developed by Santa Monica Studio and Ready at Dawn, the game, according to its PlayStation Store product page, takes place after the events of the first God of War title. It looks into the dark and mysterious history of Kratos, and resolves questions from the series that have long been unanswered, the website also noted.

Meanwhile, PS3 users with PlayStation Plus membership will get two titles for free, Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 and LocoRoco Cocoreccho! Capcom’s Bionic Commando Rearmed 2, the sequel to the 2008 retro side-scrolling video game, was developed by Fatshark. Nathan “Radd” Spencer, with his bionic arm, is back to stop General Sabio’s plan of a deadly missile strike. It brings in a fresh environment with huge bosses and countless enemies in the island of Papagaya, the official game site described.

LocoRoco Cocoreccho! is an action game from Sony Interactive Entertainment where gamers play as a butterfly with the ultimate goal to guide the little LocoRoco to safety. The game, free this May, brings in a new gameplay, a 1080p full HD resolution, and additional mini-games, the Playstation website noted.
