Johnny Depp Was Under Medical Care After Filming

Johnny Depp is one of the greatest actors in the movie industry. Currently at 53, he has won the coveted Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Actor and the Golden Globe Award. He got the biggest break of his career after getting the role of Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean sequel.

Johnny Depp played the role so well that he was virtually inseparable from the character. However, he has indicated in the recent past that at one point, Disney nearly sacked him because of his exceedingly brilliant performance. This is how it went down.

“I was probably as close to getting fired as anyone could be. They wanted to fire me so bad they could taste it.

“I spoke to one of the execs at the time and said, ‘You’re right, you should fire me – but you’ll have to pay me for my time.'”

The fact that they still had to pay him whether he appeared in the films or not is what kept them from firing him. He also added the following about his love of his character in the sequel.

“I’m very happy to explore all possibilities of a character and really, you know, dive into the role. They couldn’t understand what I was doing. You know? To the point where Disney wanted to – wanted to fire me. They didn’t understand the character. They were actually contemplating subtitling the film.”

This is as reported by Metro.

During an interview with BBC Breakfast a few years ago, he revealed that he was going to retire from acting. This was what he said.

“When you add up the amount of dialogue you say per year and you realise you’ve said written words more than you’ve had a chance to say your own words, that becomes an insane option for a human being.

“Are there quieter things I wouldn’t mind doing? Yes, I wouldn’t mind that. I wouldn’t say I am dropping out any second but I would say it’s not too far away.”

He had previously told Rolling Stone that he couldn’t see himself acting in the next 10 years, stating that his ideal strategy would be to go “somewhere where you don’t have to be on the run, or sneak in through the kitchen or the underground labyrinth of the hotel.”

On more recent news, reports surfaced just over a week ago that Johnny Depp had been put under medical care after injuring his right hand while shooting an installment of Pirates of the Caribbean last year in the Gold Coast. The information was from a sworn affidavit by his wife, Amber Heard, related to her and Johnny Depp’s dog smuggling case. This was the actual statement.

“When I returned to LA Johnny was on a considerable amount of medication and had 24-hour medical care,’ she wrote in the official documentation. ‘The whole situation could be described as crazy and I wasn’t sure if we were going to leave for Australia.'”

Johnny Depp is said to have snapped his wrist while on a go-karting session on a private MotoGP track in Mick Doohan’s property. The couple flew to Australia earlier this month to answer the dog smuggling case allegations. Amber testified to falsifying documents so she could smuggle her two Yorkshire terriers into the country aboard a private jet.
