Will Adam Lind & Chelsea Houska’s Daughter Aubree Take Cole DeBoer’s Last Name?
Adam Lind and Chelsea Houska have been at odds for years over the custody and care of their daughter, and now that the Teen Mom 2 star is preparing to wed Cole DeBoer, things may be getting even more complicated for the former couple.
According to a new report, Houska is fed up with Adam Lind’s behavior. And now that she’s planning to start a family with her soon-to-be-husband, DeBoer, she’s hoping to have her 6-year-old daughter, Aubree, take on the family name.
“After we’re married and have kids, we’re all obviously going to have the same last name,” Houska told DeBoer on a recent episode of Teen Mom 2, via a Radar Online report on April 27. “It’s just going to suck that Aubree… it’s almost like something is separating us because we’re going to have different last names. I want her to be a part of our family.”

After hearing what Houska had to say about her and Adam Lind’s daughter, DeBoer agreed that he didn’t want her to be left out, and Houska suggested they consider a possible hyphenation. However, when Houska brought up the issue during a chat with her custody lawyer, the attorney informed her that making the change would not be easy, especially since Adam Lind would likely not be on board with the idea.
“She said we would have a better case if we waited until we started having kids,” Houska explained.
While Adam Lind already has a second child, Paislee Mae Lind, from his previous relationship with Taylor Halbur, Houska and her fiancé have opted to wait to expand their family until they are married.
“I think we both want kids right away. I love babies and being a mom and it’s great to be able to have Cole who will help and be a good dad and stuff,” Houska told Wetpaint Entertainment earlier this year about her desire to start a family once she and DeBoer wed. “I can’t wait to see him as a dad, well more of a dad because I’ve seen how he is with Aubree.”

As for whether or not Aubree wanted to welcome another sibling, Houska said, “Some days she does, but sometimes she’s like ‘no, you’re just MY mom’ (laughs). We’ll have to deal with that when the time comes.”
Also during the interview, Houska spoke of her relationship with Adam Lind, revealing it would take a while for her to trust her ex-boyfriend again.
“There are things that happen where you think it’s getting better and then he does it again, it’s kind of up and down,” she admitted. “As for our custody agreement, you’ll kind of see all that play out in the season so I don’t want to get too deep into that, but you will see that storyline.”
In addition to Aubree’s complaints that Adam Lind doesn’t play with her like DeBoer does, Lind was recently accused of having Aubree and his youngest daughter, Paislee, around a sex offender. As Radar Online revealed, the two girls were seen with Adam Lind and a friend during an episode of Teen Mom 2, and that friend, according to the report, was arrested and indicted on “three felony counts of sexual exploitation, one misdemeanor count of distributing harmful materials, or pornography, to minors and two misdemeanor counts of obscene phone calls.”
