Project Home: Louis Tomlinson Thanks One Direction Fans

Louis Tomlinson is adored by his fans, and that almost goes without saying. At the same time, it seems that some elements in the media despise Louis. For some reason, people hate on Tomlinson for no reason, and the 24-year-old One Direction singer has done nothing to deserve the kind of reporting that he is subjected to on a daily basis. Of course, the tabloids and gossip magazines rely on sensationalizing the mundane to shift copy, and as one of the most popular bands on the planet, One Direction, and Tomlinson in particular, are seen as tabloid fodder.

The issue some outlets seem content to overlook is that Tomlinson’s fans have long since given up on reading negative stories about Louis. The more Tomlinson is attacked in the press, the more protective the One Direction fandom becomes. Let’s be very clear: Never underestimate the power of Tomlinson’s fans or the One Direction fandom. The fandom is a powerful beast, and when provoked, it can strike out like a wounded animal. If the One Direction fandom were an animal, it would be a lioness, protective of her cubs and hunting down lies and misinformation as if it were wounded prey.

The One Direction fandom is appreciative of the joy that Tomlinson brings to those around him whether through his music or through Louis considerable charitable efforts.

Louis has shown time and again that he never forgets those close to him and those who have touched him in some way. Tomlinson is generous to those less fortunate than himself. The Inquisitr readers might recall a story about Tomlinson back in January where a mother whose 9-year-old son was claimed by neuroblastoma told us exclusively how much Louis had affected the lives of her family.

“Louis and Jay [Tomlinson’s mother] have given us precious memories with Harvey and all of our children and that is priceless, we have so many beautiful photos of Harvey to look back on in some amazing places!

“People don’t know the real Louis, Jay has told me that when Louis suffers a bad press day he says to her ‘come on mum, let’s make someone happy today.’ That’s the kind of man Louis is. Louis Tomlinson is very grounded, he is family orientated and both Louis and Jay hold a very special place in my family’s hearts.”

Of course, One Direction fans know these things about Louis, and over the course of this week, fans from around the world have launched a campaign to let Tomlinson and his bandmates know that they are far from forgotten.

According to Sugarscape, One Direction fans want to self-release “Home” from the Made in the A.M. album and push it to the No. 1 spot. As a result, fans have undertaken a social media publicity campaign with Tomlinson and his bandmates each having a day where a unique hashtag is used.

One Direction fans have shown their loyalty by using the hashtags to show their favorite memories of Tomlinson and his pals. So successful has the campaign been that Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Liam Payne have all taken to social media this week to thank fans for their support.

Yesterday was Louis Tomlinson day, and as you would expect, Louis was trending around the world. Gossip Cop says that as a result, Louis said that One Direction fans “are incredible” and thanked them for “always making us smile.”

Tomlinson wasn’t the only one to celebrate Louis day. Johannah Deakin, Louis’ mother, posted a picture of him on her Instagram account. As you can see above, Johannah even retweeted the message advertising the project.

Make no mistake: Louis’ fans and the One Direction fandom are alive and well. Does anyone doubt that fans will help to push “Home” to No. 1 next week? We shall see.
