Drake ‘Views From The 6’ Rumors: New Album To Include Meek Mill Diss Track, Double-Disc Release And More

Drake may be only two days away from releasing his fourth studio album, Views From The 6, but it appears that rumors regarding the album’s duration, tracklist, and content continue to surface on social media ahead of its scheduled OVO Sound Radio premiere on Thursday.

Last week, it was reported that Drake’s Views From The 6 album would be released as an Apple Music exclusive on April 29, where it will be housed for one week before becoming available to other streaming platforms. In order to cater to fans who may not have access to an Apple Music subscription at the time of Views‘ release, Drake announced earlier this week that the album would make its debut during the rescheduled 20th episode of OVO Sound Radio via Beats 1 Radio on Thursday, NME reports.

With less than 48 hours remaining until the official release of Views on Apple Music, it appears that new rumors regarding the album’s content and duration continue to surface online.

According to Toronto hip-hop blog The 6 Track, rumors suggesting that Drake will release VFT6 as a double-disc album have reportedly been confirmed to the site by a “reliable source.” Rumors of a double-disc set for Views began back during All-Star Weekend after fans took to social media to share photos of Drake’s new, mysterious billboard collection in Toronto with one ad in particular seemingly hinting at the idea of a double-disc feature with the message, “Four Plus Two Equals 6,” with “four” representing the month of April, “6” representing the album title, and Drake’s love for Toronto, and “2” seemingly hinting at the possibility of a dual-disc release for the project.

The double-disc rumors were further fueled by producer Jimmy Codeine who took to Twitter earlier this month to post a screengrab of a lengthy message that seemingly details the creative direction of Drake’s new album while hinting at a few of the record’s rumored features, release timeline, and track listing.

In the screengrab, which can be viewed in its entirety on Mass Appeal, the producer alleges that Views From The 6 will be split into two discs that feature both a “poppy, ambient Take Care aesthetic” and a “new wave, trap, arrogant rap style” before comparing the discs’ differing sounds to that of Drake’s latest single releases, “Pop Style” and “Once Dance.”

The producer further notes that Rihanna, SAFE, Roy Woods, PARTYNEXTDOOR, and Travis Scott are all rumored to appear on the album, although none of these artists have confirmed rumors of a Drake collaboration. According to The 6 Track, SAFE is expected to appear on Drake’s album, although it’s unclear whether his involvement will be incorporated “musically” or “just an interlude,” before noting that Roy Woods is expected to appear as a feature and that producer Jaegen has contributed his work to the album.

In addition, the site also reveals that their sources have confirmed the existence of diss tracks for both Meek Mill and Mo-G for VFT6, albeit noting that Drake does not name the rappers specifically in any particular track.

The news comes just days after Drake seemingly confirmed the existence of at least 20 tracks for Views From The 6 in a new Instagram video, telling a cameraman that he’s “ready” for the album to drop.

“You said 20 tracks,” the cameraman says to Drake in the Instagram video, prompting the rapper to reply with, “I’m ready.” The clip comes to an abrupt close after the cameraman can be heard declaring, “That sound like a double CD,” Hot New Hip Hop reports.

In addition, Drake addressed the 20-track rumors once again during an appearance for a Views-related pop up shop on Monday, telling a group of attendees, “Me and 40 put our hearts into this, it’s like 20 songs on there for y’all to enjoy. Man, I love you. I love this place more than anywhere else in the world.”
