‘Teen Mom 2’ Leah Messer Discusses Custody Battle With Corey Simms [Video]

Leah Messer and her ex-husband, Corey Simms, the father of her 6-year-old twin girls, Ali and Aleeah, will be seen discussing their ongoing custody battle during next week’s episode of Teen Mom 2 Season 7.

Earlier in the season, Leah Messer was seen losing primary custody of the girls to Simms after a court determined he was a better fit to have the girls for the majority of the time. But right away, Leah Messer’s attorney filed a request to have the situation reassessed, and as she and Simms prepare to return to court, they meet to talk.

“I think it should have been done, like, five or six court sessions ago,” Simms tells his ex-wife in a sneak peek shared by Starcasm on April 26. “I mean, 40 hours in a court room is ridiculous.”

“That’s part of, I don’t know, growing up and miscommunication,” Leah Messer says. “I feel like we have a lot of miscommunication.”

Since their divorce years ago, Leah Messer and Simms have been at odds, aside from an affair in 2013, and when it comes to their custody battle, they’ve been feuding since 2014. At that time, Simms filed for full custody of the twins amid rumors of Leah Messer’s alleged drug use. Around the same time, Leah Messer’s second marriage to Jeremy Calvert was coming to an end after he accused her of having a second affair with Robbie Kidd.

“Our main issue is that we disagree on a lot of different stuff,” Simms explains to Leah Messer. “And we are hell bent on what we believe in on certain things.”

“That’s why we didn’t go good together, you know what I’m saying?” Leah Messer reflects. “So you parent them on your time, and then I parent them on my time, and if there’s an issue, we come to each other.”

“That’s what I plan on doing,” Corey agrees. “If there’s an issue in the future, hopefully — I’m tired of going to court!”

“I’m tired. I just feel like something was released. I feel, like, relieved,” Leah Messer replies.

Simms goes on to tell Leah Messer that he never wanted her not to be the twins’ mom.

“This is a step up — all of us taking… a step forward, doing what’s best for them from here on out — where we all work together,” Leah Messer then says.

In addition to her twin daughters with Simms, Leah Messer is also mom to 3-year-old Adalynn Faith from her marriage to Calvert. While there were rumors regarding their potential custody battle, they have appeared to be on good terms since their 2015 split. In fact, Leah Messer and Calvert appeared quite flirty during a recently filmed dinner date.

For years, Leah Messer has been accused of abusing her prescription pain pills, and when she lost custody of her twins, fans assumed the worst. However, despite her reported issues with substance abuse, Leah Messer has continued to deny any addiction, and in January, she and Simms agreed to share joint custody of their girls.

As Us Weekly revealed at the time, Leah Messer and Simms made an agreement to share time with the girls and split their bills 50/50.

Simms also has a daughter with wife Miranda, 5-month-old Remington.
