Actually, if you look at Charlamagne’s Twitter profile, you can see that he’s been tweeting like normal and hasn’t addressed “being shot in the stomach” or how it felt to be “unconscious” from those alleged shots.

So, while this Charlamagne rumor is beginning to trend around social media, you should know that there’s no confirmation that the Breakfast Club host was shot. However, there’s plenty of evidence to the contrary. Overall, the news piece appears to be a hoax in-the-making.

According to XXL, the beef between Charlmagne and Birdman may be squashed for now, anyway. The source reports that, after the show, Birdman came to his senses and apologized for his behavior in the studio. Then, he said that he would love to come back and actually finish the interview — keeping to studio protocol and etiquette.

Moreover, the source states that the Louisianan mogul wanted to talk to Charlamagne face-to-face once again. However, the Breakfast Club host mentions that he wants nothing to do with Birdman ever again — professionally or personally. For the most part, Charlamagne states that he didn’t know him before the show. And, especially after his ordeal during the interview, he’s just fine keeping things Birdman-free. He expresses as follows.

“I don’t ever want to talk to Birdman. I’m cool on Birdman. They were calling me yesterday trying to get us on the phone, I’m good. I didn’t know Birdman before this. I don’t want to know Birdman after this. God bless him. I wish him the best. I’m cool on Birdman.”

However, while the beef may be chewed and swallowed, it seems that Charlamagne’s former nemesis isn’t done with the “quote of the day,” which has taken social media by storm: “Put some ‘respek’ on my name.” Hip Hop DX reports that Charlamagne’s interviewee, Birdman, is looking to capitalize on the “respek” trend with a clothing line.

The source says that the Louisianan mogul is releasing a collection of apparel, which will have his taglines from the famous interview printed on the front or back of the clothing. Some of the prints show the following quotes.

  • “Got no more talkin'”
  • “Finish or you done”
  • “Put some respek on my name”
  • “I ain’t gonna say it no mo.”

Since this is happening, many people are starting to believe that his appearance on The Breakfast Club was just a PR stunt. However, if it’s one thing that Birdman knows how to do, it’s recognize opportunities. Realistically, it’s more likely that Charlamagne’s ex-nemesis is merely capitalizing on the hype. Instead of staying upset about the situation, why not flip it to his advantage, right?

All in all, given the radio host’s afterthought, the Charlamagne interview doesn’t appear to be a PR stunt. It’s just good business use of a trend, even if he’s the subject of the trend.

Nevertheless, what do you think about Charlamagne’s alleged assault rumor? Before now, had you seen it circulating social media? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below.
