Captain America’s Kill Count Calculated In New Video, Plus Images From ‘Civil War’ Reveal An Epic Clash Of The Superheroes

Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) certainly did not enlist in the army to kill people. However, after four movies filled with violent confrontations, Captain America has done a lot of killing. With Steve getting ready for more fighting in Captain America: Civil War, the death tally is only going to get bigger. Hopefully, the death count will not spill over to his fellow Avengers as Captain America goes head to head with Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and company.

In a video posted on YouTube, Mr. Sunday Movies officially tallied the kill count for Captain America, which is ironically pretty high considering the character’s aversion to killing. In a rough estimation, Captain America killed some 14,089 people ever since he took part in Professor Abraham Erskine’s experiment.

According to Cinema Blend, the majority of these killings took place during Cap’s latest standalone film, Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Surprisingly, the least amount of deaths was during the first Avengers movie in which Steve killed only nine individuals. In comparison, Cap killed some 32 people in The Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Of course, the total number of deaths is slightly deceiving. After all, only the kills that were directly featured in the movie were part of the official count. With that in mind, the death counts are likely higher in the Avengers’ movies, especially considering how Steve shares a lot of screen time with other superheroes. At the same time, some of the larger death scenes are difficult to calculate, which likely indicates the count is higher than the original estimate.

Regardless of the accuracy, over 14,000 kills is a lot for a character who does not enjoy killing. According to the International Business Times, this number is only going to increase as Steve goes head to head against his fellow superheroes in Captain America: Civil War.

Speaking of the upcoming movie, new images from the film have officially been released. According to Movie Pilot, the photos reveal a lot about what fans can expect to unfold in the new movie, including a look at some of the new characters.

Captain America: Civil War will introduce a few new faces to the game. Along with Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) joining the team, Chadwick Boseman will be featured as Black Panther. One of the images features a detailed look at Boseman in his new costume, minus a hood.

Along with Boseman, the images prove that Brock Rumlow (Frank Grillo) is back as Crossbones. Black Widow (Scarlet Johansson) is shown in one photo battling with Crossbones, although the outcome of their fight is unknown.

At the same time, the photos reveal that The Falcon (Anthony Mackie) will get a few upgrades in the movie. In one pic, the character shows off his new toys, which include laser beams, machine guns, and his very own drone. Additionally, the character’s wings will double as a flexible shield to ward away gunfire.

The Falcon is not the only character due for an upgrade. The high-resolution photos offer a first look at War Machine’s (Don Cheadle) newest weapon: War Hammer. The function of the weapon is unknown, but it looks like it will wreak plenty of damage before War Machine is done.

Lastly, the new photos show Iron Man and Captain America posing together after their conflict is resolved. The two characters are photographed looking at an unknown enemy. It is not clear who they are preparing to fight, although some fans have speculated that they finally team up in order to take down the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan).

Captain America: Civil War is scheduled to open in theaters May 6.
