‘Arrested Development’ Casts ‘Mad Men’ Actor John Slattery For Season 4

Season 4 of Arrested Development has a new cast member: Mad Men actor John Slattery, TVLine reports. But who Slattery, who turned 50 years old on Monday, will play is currently unknown.

Arrested Development‘s executive producer Ron Howard has been pretty tight-lipped about the specifics of the new season, but he has said that the show will be “fearless” when it is reincarnated on Netflix sometime next year. Howard told MTV.com:

“Mitch [Hurwitz, AD’s other executive producer] isn’t trying to recreate something. It’s been away for a while, and part of the fun that Mitch has been mining and exploiting is, what’s new to discover about these people? What’s delightfully unchanged? He and the writing staff and the actors have a fantastic sense of that. They’re pretty brazen, pretty bold and fearless. That’s what made the show into something that fans really kept alive.”

John Slattery’s Mad Men character, Roger Sterling, is a heavy drinking womanizer, so there is some speculation that he will be cast as a love interest for Bluth family matriarch Lucille. Unfortunately, the exact details about his character most likely will not be revealed until the show’s release date gets closer.

What we do know about season 4 of Arrested Development is that each episode will focus on one character per episode, although some episodes will feature multiple characters. There is also speculation that this season will act as a segue for a potential movie, but whether or not that comes to fruition will largely depend on the success of the new season and the willingness of the actors and producers.

Who do you think John Slattery will play on Arrested Development?
