The Walking Dead Season 7 will not air on AMC for several months. However, fans are already wondering who Negan killed, and what the deal is with Ezekiel and The Kingdom. This has led viewers to speculate on what will happen when The Walking Dead returns. One theory is that Michonne (Danai Gurira) may betray Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln).
As many TWD fans remember, Rick and Michonne met at the prison. Michonne brought baby Judith's formula after it was dropped when Merle Dixon (Michael Rooker) kidnapped Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun) and Maggie Greene (Lauren Cohan). Michonne was guarded when she first appeared on The Walking Dead. Over time, but she learned to trust Rick's group and became part of the TWD family.
In the back half of The Walking Dead Season 6, Rick and Michonne a.k.a. "Richonne" began a romance. However, will this relationship last, or will Gurira's character betray her lover? As previously reported by the Inquisitr, there are clues about Ezekiel's character in the comic books. However, what does this have to do with Michonne possibly betraying Rick?According to Walking Dead Wikia, Ezekiel and Michonne meet in the comic books. The "King" is intrigued by Michonne, but she scorns Ezekiel. It isn't until later that night when sharing stories about their past that the two began to flirt. Over time, the two form a connection, especially as Ezekiel reveals his weaknesses.
This doesn't necessarily mean that Ezekiel and Michonne will have an affair in The Walking Dead Season 7. However, it does lead some viewers to speculate on the future of "Richonne." As TWD fans know, Rick is with Andrea in the comic books. However, in the TV show, Rick and Michonne are a couple.
The writers for the TV show could have Rick and Michonne remain together and might omit Ezekiel's affair. After all, in the comics, Andrea, Rick and Carl become a family unit. By the Season 6 finale, it seems that is where "Richonne" is headed and the show might still go that route. However, there is also the possibility that something will break "Richonne" apart. Or, the television writers may have Michonne betray Rick by having her sleep with Ezekiel, despite her relationship status. Based on Michonne's loyalty to those she cares about, it doesn't seem like this is likely. But that doesn't mean it is impossible.
Back in February 2015, WetPaint speculated on Michonne's romantic future. At that time, "Richonne" was just a theory. Now that TWD fans know the two do get together, will they remain a couple?
Let's face it, Rick doesn't have the best of luck with women. His wife, Lori Grimes (Sarah Wayne Callies) thought Rick was dead and started sleeping with his best friend and co-worker, Shane (Jon Bernthal). After Rick found his family, and Lori realized the truth, The Walking Dead character found out she was pregnant. She insisted that the baby belonged to Rick, but truthfully, nobody really knows Judith's paternity.
Recently, Rick met Alexandra Breckenridge's character, Jessie. In a twist of events that took place in Alexandria, Lincoln's character killed Jessie's husband, Pete. When another woman in Rick's life died and with fans worrying about Michonne, will the TWD character find himself alone again? There is always a chance that Michonne could die or leave Rick, but Michonne is not weak. She is unlike Lori and Jessie, which is exactly what Rick needs. Even though some think Michonne may betray Rick in The Walking Dead, it just doesn't seem likely. What do you think will happen with Rick, Michonne, and Ezekiel in The Walking Dead Season 7?
