Carole Radziwill Talks Body Issues And Skinny Not Being Bad: ‘I’ll Have To Disagree’

Carole Radziwill claims she eats a lot, indulges in carbs, and drinks on occasion. Even though she’s very skinny, Carole isn’t one to starve herself for a thin body. But when Radziwill met the new housewife, Jules Wainstein, she thought that Jules may have some body issues. And she wasn’t the first housewife to bring this up. Bethenny Frankel, the owner of Skinnygirl, questioned Wainstein’s health as well. Bethenny thought that Wainstein was just a tad too thin. Carole revealed that she thought it was weird that Wainstein was trying to sell her thin frame to the group by saying that she still got her period.

According to a new Bravo report, Carole Radziwill is now sharing her thoughts about the new housewife on her blog for The Real Housewives of New York. Radziwill admits that Jules’ comments were a bit too much for her, especially since they had just met one another at the bra party.

“So the joke starts out…Two skinny girls walked into a bar…I mean, bra party…ba da-dum…it ends somewhere between I get my period every 30 days and Huh? It’s kind of like hearing a friend you suspect drinks too much say, ‘What? I don’t drink too much, I never even black out.’ Ummm, okay,” Carole Radziwill reveals on her blog.

During the conversation, Jules Wainstein reveals that she still gets her period despite being skinny. Carole Radziwill points out that it almost seemed like she was trying to sell herself as being at a healthy weight and using her period to prove her point. Several of the housewives were a bit rattled — not because Jules brought up her period, but because she was using it to make a point about her being healthy.

“This is the first time I’ve heard the period defense, and I know lots of skinny girls–myself included. Do you not get a regular period under a certain weight? What weight is that? I’ve been underweight my entire life but not so much that I didn’t get my period. So is skinny really never bad? I’ll have to disagree…it’s fine until it interferes with normal bodily functions. Red flag,” Carole Radziwill points out.

It sounds like Radziwill had no idea that some women suffer from missed periods when they starve themselves or suffer from serious eating disorders. Radziwill also admits that she has been underweight herself and knows what it’s like to be underweight. Plus, Carole Radziwill gets plenty of comments about her frail frame.

“I’m used to people commenting on my body, even women I have just met. Yes, I’m a carb junkie. No, I don’t workout. God gave me a nice frame, but he gave me a bunch of other issues. It all evens out. So it wasn’t a surprise that Jules directed our conversation to our bodies,” Carole explains of her own body frame and weight in comparison to her Real Housewives of New York co-star.

Of course, many were shocked at Wainstein’s body and just how skinny she is. Plus, on The Real Housewives of New York, she revealed that no skinny is too skinny, something which several of the housewives would disagree with. Not only does Carole think that her statement sends the wrong message, but Bethenny Frankel has also admitted to being too skinny and unhealthy at one point in her life. Frankel has admitted to suffering from eating disorders prior to finding her own balance.

What do you think of Carole Radziwill’s comments about Jules Wainstein’s weight? Are you surprised that Jules seems unhealthy compared to her Real Housewives of New York co-stars, including Radziwill?
