Caitlyn Jenner Shares Her Thoughts On Public Bathroom Debates

Caitlyn Jenner is speaking out now about her thoughts on the big debate that has been going on about public bathrooms. E! Online shared the details about what Caitlyn Jenner had to say. Last year, Caitlyn came out as transgender, so this is all really close to her heart. Jenner does everything she can to help out other people who are transgender. North Carolina has actually banned people from using the public restroom that doesn’t match the sex that they were assigned at birth. Paypal even canceled projects that were planned there over this ban, and a few concerts have been canceled as well.

Caitlyn Jenner is done being quiet about this issue, though. Jenner actually went to her own website to share her thoughts on the transgender restroom issue. Here is what Jenner revealed.

“We all want safety and privacy in public bathrooms. But these anti-LGBT bills, like the ones in North Carolina and Mississippi, actually make us less safe, not more safe. They open the door to abuse, aggressive and confrontational behavior in bathrooms, and encourage strangers to demand that women and girls prove that they are actually female in order to use the restroom. No one wants that. If one of these harmful bills is introduced in your city or state, please take a moment and listen to the stories of actual transgender people who live near you. Let’s help their voices are heard over the fear mongering from the other side.”

Several states are looking into possibly making their own anti-transgender laws, and Caitlyn Jenner wants to make sure that everyone is aware of this and fighting for what they believe in. Some states are wanting to make laws that are the opposite. Caitlyn Jenner wants there to be more bills like the one that Massachusetts is working on right now. This will help to make sure that transgender people cannot be discriminated against. Caitlyn feels like people will be able to get the education that they deserve in this state.

Caitlyn Jenner went on to explain that she feels like they need to make sure that every transgender person can go to the restroom that fits with how they identify with and live their daily life. ET Canada shared more about Caitlyn’s thoughts on these bathroom bills. As she said, going to the bathroom is something that everyone needs to do. Caitlyn feels like these bills are making it hard for transgender people to go about their daily lives and do things as simple as going to the restroom. She said she feels like these bills are opening up “the door to abuse, aggressive and confrontational behavior in bathrooms, and encourage strangers to demand that women and girls prove that they are actually female in order to use the restroom. No one wants that.”

The bills that are being passed now are all different based on where you live. Caitlyn Jenner feels like there are some good bills out there, but others are not. She doesn’t think that the way you are treated should be based on where you live. This could make it hard for some people who are just coming out and even make them consider staying quiet about how they feel.

Do you agree with Caitlyn Jenner on the transgender bathroom issue? Do you think that all states will eventually agree on a transgender bill? Sound off in the comments section below on your thoughts, and don’t miss new episodes of I Am Cait on Sunday nights on E!.
