‘Game of Thrones’: Spoilers From A Leak Of The Season 6 Premiere

Game of Thrones fans are celebrating because April 24 has finally arrived! The 10 long months since the last episode of Season 5 in June of last year have been filled with hours of scouring the internet for spoilers and speculation about the fate of Jon Snow. Tonight, Season 6 begins, and we finally get to see what really happens next in Westeros.

Last night, for a brief amount of time, the Telegraph is reporting that the Game of Thrones episode we will see tonight was leaked online. The source of the leak isn’t clear at this point. Some say HBO leaked it as a promotional stunt for tonight’s episode. Most seem to believe it was leaked through a Canadian streaming service. It has since been pulled, but not before some people, including Game of Thrones fans on Reddit, were able to post some of what was in the episode. Talk about spoilers! We’re going to jump right into some spoilers, so if you don’t want to see them, stop reading now.

Ready? Here we go!

Not long ago, HBO released this spoiler, a shot of a scene from Game of Thrones Season 6.

Theon and Sansa #GoTSeason6

What we haven’t known is what happens after this scene. Until now. And it involves the ever-loyal Brienne, who made a vow to the now-perished Catelyn Stark to find Sansa. We know Brienne takes that vow very seriously. She has remained dedicated to it since making it in Season 2 of Game of Thrones. Well, according to the Reddit discussion of the leak, Theon and Sansa are caught (we don’t know specifically by whom), but are then rescued by the valiant Brienne and her traveling companion and squire, Podrick.

The second spoiler provided by the Game of Thrones leak is that Arya takes a serious beating from The Waif at The House of Black and White. For failing the first assignment given to her by Jaqen? For killing Meryn Trant without being told by Jaqen to do so? Either of these would be seen as defiance of The Many-Faced God, and could well be the reason for Arya being subjected to a brutal beating by The Waif in tonight’s episode of Game of Thrones. Considering that she was struck blind at the end of Game of Thrones Season 5, watching this happen to a defenseless Arya is sure to be painful to watch.

The third, and possibly the biggest, Game of Thrones spoiler reported from the briefly-leaked episode is related to Melisandre.

In the Game of Thrones Season 6 premiere, Melisandre reportedly removes her necklace and is revealed as a 200-year-old witch. Who saw that coming? The Game of Thrones writers do like to keep us on our toes! What does it mean? We don’t know the setting in which this happens. We don’t know why she removes her necklace or in whose presence she does it. Or maybe it’s in no one’s presence. The implications of Melisandre’s true identity could have huge implications for Game of Thrones. This will be an exciting storyline to watch!

The Reddit thread includes more spoilers from the Game of Thrones leak, some more surprising than others. Jon Snow’s friends barricade his body with the help of Melisandre. They’re ready to fight and concede that they are outnumbered, so they seek out the Wildings for help. Cersei learns that her daughter is dead. The Dorne king and his son are killed by the Sandwomen. And Daenerys talks her way out of a rape. What a packed show tonight’s Game of Thrones will be! The spoilers are likely to make fans even more eager to watch!

The countdown is on. Check out the Game of Thrones Season 6 premiere at 9 p.m. ET tonight on HBO. Until then, check out the latest trailer below.
