Jodie Sweetin Still Waiting On Injury Diagnoses For Monday’s Competition

Jodie Sweetin is reportedly still waiting on a diagnosis regarding her ankle injury, sustained while she was rehearsing for Dancing With The Stars late last week.

The Fuller House star attempted to flip her partner, Keo Motsepe, and he landed awkwardly. The fall injured Jodie’s ankle and sent her to the hospital in an ambulance, but her reps say she can only take it one day at a time and rest her wounded foot. Whether or not she will be able to compete on Monday is still up in the air.

“Earlier today, Jodie Sweetin injured her left foot during rehearsals for Dancing with Stars. She was taken by ambulance to a local hospital and she is awaiting her official diagnosis. She is in good spirits while she waits and Keo, along with her fiancee Justin Hodak, are by her side,” her rep said in a statement.

Monday night’s competition will be a game-changer for the remaining couples, so it could be crucial for Jodie to perform. A spokesperson for the show says that the evening consists of some of the most important routines of the entire season.

“This is one of the toughest nights of the season, as the couples have to take on famous dances and recreate some of the greatest routines of all time,” the spokesperson said.

Jodie Sweetin has so far impressed judges and viewers alike during her time on the show, and many have projected a win for her and Keo; right now, an injury is the last thing she needs. However, she’s reportedly in “good spirits” and was seen walking into rehearsal in flip flops, so it’s possible she’ll make a full recovery just in time.

Sweetin received quite a bit of praise last week, when she switched partners and ended up getting some of her highest scores to date. The actress took to Instagram to thank viewers and to urge them to keep voting to keep her on the show, saying that all she needed was to get out of her own head in order to do well.

“What an amazing week dancing with @iamvalc!! I’m so proud of what we did tonight!! You kicked my a** into gear and got me out of my head and onto the ballroom floor! Just what I needed,” Jodie wrote.

Jodie has shared quite a few of her DWTS moments on Instagram, letting her fans come along on the journey with her as she rehearses each week.

Jodie Sweetin has incurred quite the fanbase since late last year, when it was announced that a Full House reboot would be picked up by Netflix. Fans had been clamoring for a reunion for years, so when the show premiered earlier this year everyone tuned in to see what the extended Tanner family had been up to. With almost all the original cast returning for Fuller House (everyone except the Olsen twins), it was an easy win for Netflix because they all had a built-in loyal following. The hard part was coming up with backstories for everyone, but creator Jeff Franklin said he knew what he wanted for Sweetin’s character.

“I didn’t want Stephanie to have children. I wanted one of the three to not have kids. The backstory I created for her was that she’s a free spirit, traveling the world. She’s into her career and into having fun, and I thought this would be a really interesting aspect to that character — and touching,” Franklin said.

The show has already been picked up for a second season, where Stephanie will reportedly get a new man in her life. The series is casting for a character who is a sexy singer/songwriter who is a “touch on the weird side”.
