‘Charmed’ Reboot Possible Says Holly Marie Combs, CBS May Shoot Pilot With Original Cast Members

A Charmed reboot is a very real possibility. The show had a cult following back when it began airing, and it is still heavily watched across platforms like Netflix. In recent years, the reboot of old television shows has become popular. From Full House to Gilmore Girls, television viewers are reliving parts of their lives with the updated versions of shows that meant a lot to them. The Charmed reboot has been tossed around a lot in the last couple of years, but it seems that in 2016 it is garnering a lot of steam.

Rumors plagued the Charmed reboot just last month. It appears that CBS has the revival rights, though that has yet to be confirmed by the network. According to Us Weekly, a Charmed reboot is possible if Holly Marie Combs has anything to say about it. She talked with the news outlet and revealed that she would be willing to reprise her role as Piper Halliwell. Also on board would be Shannen Doherty who played Prue Halliwell and Rose McGowan who played Paige Matthews. This could be a Charmed fan’s dream come true!

Alyssa Milano is the only main cast member who has not spoken out eagerly about reprising the role of Phoebe Halliwell in the Charmed reboot. Last month, she was talking about the fact that the show may be remade but was insistent that the original girls would not be a part of what the network was doing. Fans have been waiting for more details on the Charmed reboot, but it appears that new information is mostly an elaboration on what can already be seen. The time to invest in a Charmed reboot is now while the fire is burning hot for bringing back old shows. Fans are looking forward to this one and if done right, it could be a great decision for the network.

There has been a lot of speculation about casting for the Charmed reboot. The original girls have all expressed interest in taking part in the new version, but some are more excited than the others. Rumors have indicated that CBS would like to do the Charmed reboot with all news girls. While that may appeal to a generation that did not watch the original series, it wouldn’t do much to rope the long-time fans back in to support the show. As of now, nothing has been confirmed about a script or filming. Fans were hoping that Holly Marie Combs speaking out about an interest in the Charmed reboot would help to bring interest to the network, but so far nothing can be confirmed.

With the 2016 fall television season just around the corner, a Charmed reboot may be a good idea. It is unlikely that the show could be written, cast, and filmed in order to make it air in the fall, but it could get fans excited enough to watch other things on the network in anticipation for the reboot. Charmed holds a space in a lot of hearts, many of those fans having children of their own. With things moving in the direction of reboots of popular shows from two and three decades ago, there is no telling how much this would help improve CBS’ ratings.

Since it is now confirmed that at least some of the original cast members would be willing to work on a Charmed reboot, hopefully, the ball will get rolling. There are various ways the stories could be written, and that will decide how things go. If CBS does decide to use new actors for the Charmed reboot without including any of the original members, it just won’t be the same.
