Nicole Kidman Heading Back To Broadway, Stuns While Attending NYC Screening With Husband Keith Urban


Nicole Kidman has had a long-running successful career as an actress and Hollywood leading lady. The talent has also been the star in numerous plays, including those on Broadway, which will soon become her home-base once more as she prepares to take to the stage for the first time in 18 years.

Kidman will be reprising her role in Photograph 51, and the Oscar winner will be doing so at either the Broadhurst or Lyceum Theaters on the Great White Way in the fall. Nicole was reportedly attempting to bring the play to her hometown of Sydney as well.

The Sydney Morning Herald outlines the plot of the play within which Kidman is set to play lead once more.

“Written by playwright Anna Ziegler, Photograph 51 centres on the true story of DNA pioneer Rosalind Franklin in the 1950s, and when the production opened in London last September, both the show and Kidman earned rave reviews from critics.”

Reviews from Kidman’s appearance in the play were unanimous, stating that the beauty achieved greatness. The London Telegraph published a review by Dominic Cavendish to support this statement.

“Kidman displays once again the power to hold us in thrall… by turns icily impatient and glowering, but thawing too for telling moments, Kidman brilliantly suggests an intelligent woman compacted of porcelain and steel.”

The New York Times was sure to publish another favorable review, which will certainly entice Broadway-goers to catch sight of Kidman in action.

“Ms. Kidman makes it clear she is in charge here, and woe unto those of us who doubt it… [she] has seldom been better cast than as this intimidating figure.”

Kidman’s late father was her inspiration for taking on the role in Photograph 51. As the Herald reminds, Nicole’s father “Dr. Antony Kidman was also a research scientist, and has previously said the role was a tribute to him.”

The role in the soon-to-be Broadway play has earned Kidman numerous awards and honors. Along with an Olivier Award nomination, Nicole also took home the Best Actress award from WhatsOnStage and Evening Standard.

As noted, it has been 18 years since Nicole Kidman graced the Broadway stage when she performed in Blue Room, a play by Sam Mendes.

It seems as though Nicole has already spent a fair amount of time in New York. She recently appeared at a screening alongside her country singer husband, Keith Urban, looking as radiant and fashionable as ever.

The Daily Mail noted the beauty’s look for the occasion.

“Nicole Kidman was a shining star at a screening of her new film in New York on Saturday.The stunning actress, 48, wore an on-trend patterned designer frock that mixed and matched colors and perfectly fitted her slim figure. The dress featured full sleeves and a hem that fell just below her knees.She complemented her dress with a pair of silver sandal heels that added several inches to her stature. The lovely star also left her reddish blonde hair loose and cascading in curls over her shoulders.”

The couple were in attendance of a screening for the film The Family Fang, within which Kidman also stars alongside Jason Bateman. Bateman additionally directed the feature about two siblings who investigate the mysterious disappearance of their famous parents.

Kidman’s hubby looked proud and elated to be on Nicole’s arm as he shared the spotlight with the gorgeous star. He also kept it fashionable in a bespoke suit.

“Keith, 48, was dapper in a bespoke black suit with black tie and white shirt.The adorable couple held hands as they posed for photographers and the singer beamed with pride as he placed a gentle arm around his wife’s waist.”
