Prince sadly has been added to the morbid list of celebrities and famous people that have already died in 2016. His sudden death yesterday shocked fans, who have already lost David Bowie, Doris Roberts, and Alan Rickman this year, bringing up the question: who is next in 2016?

This year is proving to be a heartbreaking one as celebrities old and young continue to die despite the year only being four months old.

Prince’s shocking death is the latest in a string of musicians, actors, politicians, journalists, and writers who lost their lives in 2016. The singer was found dead in his home at the age of 57 on April 21. The cause of his death has not been confirmed, but tributes for the Purple Rain singer have already started to pour in.

To the shock of old and young fans, Alan Rickman died after a secret battle with cancer on January 14. Rickman, who is remembered for his roles in Harry Potter, Love Actually, and Die Hard, kept his illness quiet and is one of Britain’s, and the worlds, best-loved actors. His death sent shockwaves through Harry Potter fandom, as fans later discovered that Rickman had also suffered a stroke the previous year, which he also kept quiet. The loss of Rickman happened just days after the death of David Bowie.

David Bowie died, after an 18-month battle with cancer, at the age of 69 in New York City. Like Rickman, Bowie concealed that he was sick from fans and friends. Bowie died on January 4 and “died peacefully, surrounded by his family.”
