Ed Sheeran Fans Can Bid On Ed’s Hand-Drawn Artwork For Charity Auction

Ed Sheeran, the English singer and songwriter best known for his Grammy-winning song “Thinking Out Loud,” was recently seen showcasing another art form: drawing. According to the Irish Examiner, Ed Sheeran was among a group of good-natured celebrities who participated in an art auction to raise money for breast cancer.

Ed Sheeran, Judi Dench, and Dominic West were among a group of stars to auction up personal drawings of theirs in a fundraiser for breast cancer, the Art For Cure’s Make Your Mark.

While most of the celebrities stuck to doing doodles, Judi Dench produced a watercolor painting that could pass as an actual work of art.

Andy Murray and Jamie Murray drew a piece of art that gives a rudimentary view of a tennis court. Some celebrities used unconventional means of creating art, such as Elizabeth Hurley and Joanna Lumley using lipstick as their tool of choice to create their masterpieces.

Jim Broadbent made a striking self-portrait while Ed Sheeran created a playful and fun looking doodle of a cat for the auction.

Sheeran’s doodle included the message “Lots of love” and his signature: small gestures that will surely increase the value of the artwork for Ed Sheeran’s fans, and all for the benefit of the charity.

Mark Rylance, the Oscar-winning actor from Bridge of Spies, used his blank canvas as a means of directing people to a website called the “Truth About Cancer,” which hosts a series of documentaries by Ty Bollinger claiming to reveal secrets about beating cancer that pharmaceutical companies are allegedly “hiding” from the people.

Ed Sheeran and a host of other celebrities from all area of show business and the sporting arena participated in the auction for Art For Cure, one of the UK’s best contemporary art and sculpture shows, with proceeds being donated to charity.

Ed Sheeran fans can bid on his artwork here. Bidding ends on May 8, 2016, and the current bid is 480 GBP.

Ed Sheeran was also among a group of stars nominated for a major prize at an awards ceremony next month. According to Daily Mail, Ed Sheeran, along with James Bay, Jamie Lawson, and Jess Glynne, will be in attendance at the Ivor Novello Awards next month because they were nominated for major awards.

Ed Sheeran is no stranger to the Ivor Novello Awards as he was the big winner last year, taking home the prize for Songwriter of the Year. In that same award ceremony, Ed Sheeran famously revealed that he had suffered an embarrassing instance at the airport on the way to the ceremony, all thanks to his mentor Elton John and his fondness for sending Ed rude videos.

Ed Sheeran spoke on the videos that Elton John had sent him in the email, although he still left the finer details to his fans’ imaginations!

“The worst email he ever sent me was, I got to customs in New York once and I had 17 new emails from him and I was like, something must be important. And they were all video attachments, and I downloaded the first one, and yeah – it was good. And I was at customs and it’s pretty hard to get into America anyway without those sort of videos. It happens quite a lot.”

This year’s Ivor Novello Awards will take place on Thursday, May 19 at the Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London. The nominations for the award ceremony were announced by radio personality Paul Gambaccini at The Arts Club on Dover Street. Music artists will compete for various awards including the International Lifetime Achievement award and the Ivor Novello Award for Songwriter of The Year.
