‘The Walking Dead’ Spoilers: Could Negan Kill Rick In Season 7?

The Walking Dead Season 7 is still a half a year away, but that’s not stopping fans from trying to find out the identity of Negan’s Season 6 finale victim. While many names have been thrown around, it could be the character of Rick Grimes that may actually be in danger.

According to Comic Book, it’s easy to see The Walking Dead without its main character, Rick Grimes. There are so many characters and storylines to pursue on the series that it is possible Rick’s character could bite the dust at any time, including in the Season 7 premiere at the hands of Negan.

The report claims that The Walking Dead‘s motto of “no one is safe,” has really been lacking credibility over the past couple of seasons. Yes, they’ve killed off some good characters, but not characters that fans really love, and are invested in. Beth, Noah, and Tyreese have all fallen, but their deaths left no lasting impact on the majority of the main characters, or the fans.

In fact, most recently, smaller characters, such as Deanna, Denise, Jessie, Ron, Sam, and Carter, all have died, but fans didn’t really care. They weren’t shocked or stunned by the loss of the characters, and that’s why the show needs to do something stunning when it comes to Negan’s victim.

The site claims that killing Rick off The Walking Dead would be the one thing that viewers would never expect, and give the show the “ultimate credibility boost” moving forward as they focus on the remaining characters, as well as the newly introduced Negan, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

“Killing Rick would be the ultimate way to claim that no one is safe. If the character was offed, it would prove that Robert Kirkman and the team behind this series have literally no fears. The show would likely become focused on the man who everyone was waiting for, Negan, and move forward as he instills the new world order upon Alexandria. It would be the ultimate credibility boost for, ‘No one is safe.’ “

Actor Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick Grimes on The Walking Dead, has reportedly been alluding to the fact that it may have been Rick who gets Negan’s bat, Lucille, in the Season 6 finale, and has even revealed he doesn’t really know where the storyline is going in Season 7. Is it because his character is dead?

Rumors about Andrew Lincoln wanting off the show have been circulating for a while now. Reports claim that Andrew is tired of moving his family back and forth from London, where they reside, to Atlanta, Georgia, where The Walking Dead films for many months out of the year. While Lincoln’s rep claims those reports are false, there could be some validity to them. On the other hand, what actor would want off one of the biggest shows on TV, where they play the main character?

Season 6 was also referred to as the end of Rick’s journey as a leader. He’s no longer in charge anymore with the appearance of Negan, and any power he may have once had seems to be gone. After he brought the Alexandria community together, is there just nothing left for Rick to do?

Another theory among Walking Dead fans is that when Negan tells his men to feed Carl’s other eye to his father if anyone gets out of line, he could be a referencing to a zombie version of Rick eating his own son’s organs.

Hey, it may be a big reach, but it’s an idea that fans are willing to entertain as they try desperately to figure out who Negan killed in the Season 6 finale.
