New happenings will take place all around Walt Disney World property and at Disneyland in California as well.
Soarin’ Around the World – Epcot
One of the most exciting things is the reopening of the popular attraction Soarin’ at Epcot which will now be called Soarin’ Around the World. It will change things so guests aren’t just flying through California any longer, but all around the globe.
On June 16, Soarin’ Over the Horizon will open at Shanghai Disneyland, and those in the United States won’t have to wait much longer. The very next day on June 17, 2016, guests at Epcot and Disney California Adventure will be able to enjoy Soarin’ Around the World, according to the Disney Parks Blog.
FASTPass+ reservations for Soarin’ Around the World are set to be made available as of Apr. 21, 2016.
Frozen Ever After – Epcot
Anyone that loves Disney’s Frozen will love knowing that the made-over Norway pavilion in Epcot will see the new Frozen Ever After attraction open this June. An exact date is not yet known, but the Disney Parks Blog has confirmed that it will make its debut in June.
It is assumed that the Royal Sommerhaus meet-and-greet location for Anna and Elsa will open at the same time. Guests exiting the ride portion of the attraction will exit into the meet-and-greet to interact with the royal sisters.
Tiffins Signature Restaurant – Disney’s Animal Kingdom
A brand new signature restaurant has been known about for months now, but the time is finally coming to dine there. Tiffins will be opening at Disney’s Animal Kingdom over Memorial Day weekend, and Disney has announced that guests can look for reservation information on May 20, 2016.
The menu is going to be inspired by travels around the world, and it will finally give Disney’s Animal Kingdom a new table-service restaurant.
Kilimanjaro Safaris After Dark – Disney’s Animal Kingdom
In that same Memorial Day weekend, Disney will debut the Kilimanjaro Safaris After Dark experience which so many have been waiting for. As revealed by My Mickey Vacation Travel, the savanna is going to have special lighting and effects so guests can enjoy the safari and the animals in brand new ways.
There will also be the “Harambe Wildlife Parti” in Africa and “Jungle Book: Alive with Magic” experience on Discovery River. Don’t forget that the Tree of Life will now have a completely new look each night as hours are extended at Animal Kingdom.
As the overhaul and transformation from Downtown Disney continues, a lot will now be made available to guests this summer. The Disney Parks Blog has revealed that at least 30 new tenants are going to be opening before the end of the summer.
When “Town Center” opens, it will include great new shopping and dining locations such as D-Luxe Burger, Blaze Pizza, Sprinkles Cupcakes, and many more.
Finding Dory characters debuting at Turtle Talk With Crush – Epcot
With the new movie and sequel to Finding Nemo opening in theaters on June 17, guests will now be able to interact with them at Epcot as well. In Early May, “Turtle Talk With Crush” will see the additions of Destiny the whale shark, Bailey the beluga whale, and Hank the “septopus” which is a seven-legged octopus.
Elena of Avalor – Magic Kingdom
A new meet-and-greet opportunity is coming to Magic Kingdom in August as Elena of Avalor will be arriving to welcome everyone. Disney’s first princess inspired by diverse Latin cultures is set to arrive in Magic Kingdom sometime in August.
Summer 2016 is going to be huge at Walt Disney World, and all of these new experiences will end up making it even bigger. Guests have been waiting for Soarin’ Around the World and Frozen Ever After for a long time now. Kilimanjaro Safaris after dark will be a brand new way of viewing the exotic and wonderful animals. There is so much to do at Disney, and they just keep giving more.
