Jennifer Aniston has been named People magazine’s World’s Most Beautiful woman of 2016.
People magazine revealed the big news, and Aniston’s newest cover, during a segment on the Today Show on April 20, which marked the second time Aniston has been awarded the prestigious honor after originally being named the World’s Most Beautiful woman back in 2004.
“She’s one of the most beloved stars in Hollywood. People have truly adored her since Friends,” Julie Jordan, People‘s east coast writer told the Today Show anchor Tamron Hall following the big reveal on April 20.
“She takes such good care of herself … and she’s just more gorgeous than ever,” Jordan continued of Aniston, who added that Jennifer “is really mindful” about the food she eats and what she puts into her body.
Julie Jordan also revealed on the NBC morning show that there was “not that much” debate by People magazine staff when it came to deciding who should be crowned this year’s World’s Most Beautiful woman, revealing that People magazine’s readers “love [Jennifer Aniston] almost more than anyone else.”
As for how Aniston reacted when she was told the news that she was being named World’s Most Beautiful for the second time, People revealed that Jennifer admitted that she was “very, very flattered” by the big news.
“I thought, ‘Oh my God,’ ” Jennifer confessed in People‘s 2016 World’s Most Beautiful issue, joking that she experienced “this sort of very excited, teenage-y kind of moment” upon hearing the news earlier this year.
When Jennifer was first crowned Most Beautiful back in 2004, she told the publication that she “never felt beautiful, ever,” but it sounds like Jennifer has changed her mind 12 years later.
In her most recent Most Beautiful cover feature, Aniston told the magazine that she underwent a drastic health transition after she was once told by a casting director that she was “too chubby” for a role.
“I was like, ‘What?!’ But my diet was terrible,” Jennifer told People in the new issue, admitting that she would eat “Milkshakes and french fries with gravy” when she was younger.
“It was a good thing to start paying attention,” she said, “It’s funny, it’s a really quick transition from not a care and now all of a sudden we’ve got to really be mindful of what we put inside our bodies.”
As for how Jennifer Aniston defines beauty, she told the 2016 World’s Most Beautiful issue of People magazine that it’s all about “Inner confidence. Peace. Kindness. Honesty” and “A life well-lived.”
“Taking on challenges and not feeling shame for things that haven’t gone the way you felt they should have,” Jennifer continued, “And not feeling like a failure or allowing people to critique your life and make you feel like you’ve failed at something. That’s just toxic noise.”
But while Jennifer Aniston may have been named the World’s Most Beautiful woman of 2016, the magazine is also paying homage to some other notable stars with great genes in the newest issue.
Leading up to Jennifer Aniston’s big reveal, the publication counted down to the unveiling by announcing a slew of other stars who are featured in the special issue of the magazine.
As revealed by People‘s Most Beautiful gallery, Reese Witherspoon, Sofia Vergara, Keke Palmer, Selena Gomez, Meagan Good, Carrie Underwood, and Christina Milian are also honored alongside Aniston in the 2016 World’s Most Beautiful edition of People magazine.
The 2016 edition of People‘s World’s Most Beautiful issue hits newsstands on April 22.
