Joss Stone Puts Off Tour Dates To Care For Her Dying Rottweiler

Soul singer Joss Stone was forced to cancel the tour dates for the Caribbean leg of her “Total World Tour” to be with her sick dog, Missy.

According to reports, the singer’s tour aimed to have people from every country in the world see her perform. However, the emergency regarding her sick dog forced her to postpone her shows in Barbados, Trinidad, and Tobago. She addressed the issue via her Facebook page on Friday.

The 29-year-old singer explained that her dog was rushed to the veterinarian, and she would be heading home to stay by the pooch’s side. In her post, she added that she’s very sad to have to postpone some tour dates but hopes to be able to return in time for her gig in Venezuela. Her performance in Caracas, Venezuela, is set for April 21.

As for her dog’s situation, Joss Stone said that Missy was rushed to the animal doctor due to internal bleeding. The singer canceled some of her tour dates after the animal doctor advised her that Missy, a Rottweiler, could have only a few hours left to live.

Fortunately, it seems that the situation has made a turn for the better.

She posted via social media, “Luckily she made it through the night and they are now working hard to find out what is wrong and save her. Missy is the closest thing I have to a child. I know to some that may sound ridiculous but for me it is everything.”

The post didn’t end there, as the singer added that she has to make sure her pet is okay before she can continue with the tour. She also shared that she hopes the people who planned to attend her shows will understand. It remains unclear if the postponed tour dates will be rescheduled.

She concluded her post by saying, “Please say a prayer for Missy. I don’t know what I will do if she is not around. I can’t bear the thought. Please say a prayer even if you don’t believe in God, just put out some good energy for her.”

In June 2011, two men planned to kidnap and kill Joss Stone. Luckily, police were able to foil their plan. The would-be killers who wanted to behead the songstress were identified as Junior Bradshaw and Kevin Liverpool. The two men lurked close to the Stone’s rural home in southwest England but were arrested before they could carry out their plan.

Since then, the singer has relied on her pet dog Missy for comfort and security. The two convicts are now serving jail time after it was found out that they had knives, hammers, a metal spike, a garden hose, plastic bags, balaclavas, and a samurai sword when they were apprehended.

The Grammy award-winning singer is a known animal lover. She recently stripped down for a PETA campaign. In the photo posted on her Instagram account, she appeared to have her body painted to look like she had reptile skin. Tears were running down her face, and she looked terrified as the camera snapped away.

She wrote, “Animals feel fear, pain, happiness, & have souls. Living beings are #NotOurs2Wear.

In the bottom right corner of her post, she informed her fans that three animals are being killed just to make one crocodile bag. The campaign catchphrase says “Say NO to exotic animal skins.”
