Chris Brown Talks Abouts His Suicidal Thoughts In New Documentary

Multi-award winning singer/rapper Chris Brown has revealed that the controversy following his assault of pop star Rihanna has caused a downward spiral in his life.

In a short portion of the upcoming film documentary about Brown’s life, he revealed that he even contemplated suicide after his split with the “S&M” singer. In the newly released trailer for Welcome to My Life: The Official Chris Brown Documentary, Brown talked about the backlash that came from abusing his then-girlfriend.

“I went from being on top of the world, No. 1 songs, being kind of like America’s sweetheart to being Public Enemy No. 1.”

He also added that he felt like a “f***ing monster,” and he had problems eating and sleeping. Everything was going badly in his life.

His mom, Joyce Hawkins, also said that during that time, she knew it was the worst day of her life and her son’s life.

“I felt like I was going to lose my child,” she added.

There was controversy when Brown announced the making of the documentary. People were asking whether Rihanna approved of the project, mainly because it covers in detail what happened in 2009 when the “Loyal” singer assaulted her.

Right after the assault, pictures of Rihanna were taken, showing some nasty bruises, multiple injuries, and a battered face.

Brown immediately received criticisms from fans, the media, and even some fellow artists. He pleaded guilty to the felony assault and received a five-year probation.

But in a report by Hollywood Life, it appears that Rihanna not only approves of the film documentary but also supports her ex-BF’s move.

An insider claims that Rihanna knew about the documentary because Chris Brown himself shared the details with her.

“At first, she was surprised he wanted to go public with this, she cautioned him that he had to be mentally and emotionally prepared to go back and relive it,” said the insider.

But after Chris reassured her that it was something he wanted to do, she provided her support.

In fact, the insider said that Rihanna is proud of Brown and understands why he wanted to do the documentary moving forward. She also commends him for caring and protecting his daughter, Royalty.

It was previously reported that the Barbadian-born songstress has always wanted Chris Brown to express his feelings publicly. An insider even said that “had Chris been the man he is now eight years ago, Ri would still be with him.”

“Chris is working on himself and trying to be the best man and father he can,” said the insider.

Aside from Brown, other friends and artists such as Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Lopez, Mary J. Blige, and Rita Ora would also make brief appearances in the documentary.

Usher, a fellow artist and friend of Brown, even stated, “If you truly love Chris Brown then you felt everything that has gone on with him.”

In spite of the controversy, Rihanna and Chris Brown rekindled their romance in 2012 and 2013, although the two have since parted ways. This time, it seems it’s for good.

Regardless of everything he went through, Brown showed his strength in the final portion of the trailer, stating that his career is not done.

“If there was ever a doubt in your mind Chris Brown was done, he was finished: I wouldn’t bet on it,” he added.

Brown continues to be one of the most famous and relevant artists in the music industry.

While Chris Brown has already been talking about the film documentary, it does not have a release date yet.
