Harry Styles: Six Times The One Direction Hunk Melted Our Hearts
Can you believe that six-years have passed since Harry Styles first auditioned for X-Factor? In six short years Styles has gone from talent show hopeful to one of the most recognizable stars on the planet. Harry is adored by fans around the world and as was reported in the Inquisitr yesterday Styles popularity means that he is the darling of the gossip columns. Sadly, many of the stories relating to Harry and his One Direction bandmates have only a passing acquaintance with the truth.
It is a shame that some sections of the media are only interested in negative stories about Harry because Styles does so many amazing things. In celebration of the sixth anniversary of Styles’ X-Factor audition here are six true stories about Harry that melted our hearts.
As any fan of One Direction knows, Harry has been a massive supporter of LGBTQ issues through the years. Despite rumors about his own sexuality, Styles has supported Switchboard, a London based LGBTQ helpline. Harry has offered public support for those struggling with their sexuality and has proudly paraded the rainbow flag at numerous concerts through the years. Whilst One Direction fans may be divided on Styles sexuality, Harry has shown fans that they should be proud of who they are. In his own quiet and understated way, Styles has shown fans that they can celebrate their sexuality regardless of what that might be.

Harry cares about people and on numerous occasions he has gone the extra mile to support fans. As an example, back in 2013 the Mirror reported that One Direction fan Kelcey Hallinan was set to meet Harry and his bandmates. Kelcey was gravely ill with Hodgkin lymphoma and it had been arranged for her to meet Styles through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Sadly, Kelcey was too ill to leave hospital and missed the opportunity to meet Harry. Styles became aware of Kelcey’s plight and sent her a message on Twitter. Harry then set up a facetime call with Kelcey so that they could have nice long face-to-face chat.
Styles is a generous man and is far from afraid to show a little kindness to strangers. Earlier this month, the Daily News reported how Styles made dreams come true for 15-year-old One Direction fan Sofia Ramirez. Sofia almost died with excitement when she realized that Harry was dining in the same restaurant as her family. Sofia wrote that Styles shook her father’s hand before scooping up her little sister for an adorable photo-op. Her other sister Alexandra Ramirez, 16, also met the star with her family. Harry even paid for the families dinner, what a star.
In October of last year, the Standard reported that Harry surprised a young One Direction fan by presenting her with a heart-shaped diamond pendant. Sixteen-year-old Abbie Robinson from Elgin, Scotland, had one wish, to meet Styles. Abbie had been diagnosed with Clear Cell Sarcoma, a very rare form of cancer. She attended a charity concert in London with the help of charity Rays Of Sunshine. Abbie was taken backstage to have a one-on-one meeting with Harry where he presented her with the amazing gift.
Staying with the charity theme, MTV report that Harry took 35-minutes out of his schedule last week to have a facetime chat with fan Andrea Casique. It seems that no subject was out-of-bounds during the chat, which was arranged by the Make A Wish Foundation.
The final story in our round-up of six of the cutest Harry Styles stories comes from 2014 when the Daily Mail reported that Harry had helped a love-struck man propose to his girlfriend during a One Direction concert in Atlanta, Georgia. Bradley Chisenhall had tweeted Harry asking for his help and Styles had spotted the message after it began to trend. Harry invited Bradley to bring his girlfriend Christine Kozlowski onstage where he proposed to her in front of thousands of screaming One Direction fans. Thankfully, Christine said yes!
Styles is renowned for his acts of kindness, so wouldn’t the world be a much nicer place if the media reported on this aspect of his life more often and skipped out on the rumor mongering and unkind stories?
