Sam Heughan’s Lighthearted Moments And Internet Gossip With Caitriona Balfe

People Magazine did an interview with Outlander actor Sam Heughan and reportedly did what the article calls a “performance piece” with co-star Caitriona Balfe, of the “sad Affleck” meme which took social media by storm last month.

The meme started spreading when people felt that Affleck looked sad while being asked about the bad reviews Batman Vs. Superman was getting.

The Inquisitr was one of the sources which reported on it.

Yahoo TV writes about a recent episode of the Starz series Outlander, where there’s mention of toilet humor that appears to play to Sam Heughan’s sense of humor.

Both Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe are aware that they’re, for the most part, a topic of constant gossip and discussion as pointed out in an article by Radio Times.

E Online provides a video where they say that both actors are playing coy when asked about other actors on the series.

While the actors refused to say much about what’s to come in the new season, International Business Times doesn’t hold back on the spoilers in a recent article for the fans who cannot wait.

The article covers the brief history of Sam Heughan’s career as a up-and-coming actor before landing the role in Outlander, which is now in its second season.

He also talks about how fans are very devoted to the show and to his social network accounts, but that he and his co-star are often suspected of being in an offline relationship. Fans expressed their disappointment when the actor says that it’s just a job.

“It was a weird one, we were asked in an interview and we were honest about it – and I really sort of felt we shouldn’t really discuss it. Having said that, I guess we’re aware of it, and we’re aware that some fans were upset, they felt they’d been duped or something, which is really strange because we’re just doing our job.”

The article also mentions that Heughan and Balfe had gone to dinner together where they talked about how nervous they were about the new season, which certainly doesn’t help to quell the rumors of them having a legitimate relationship.

One could refer to a post by Celeb Dirty Laundry where it talks about the two holding hands at the premiere of their show on April 4.

The Outlander series is very much in the same category as Game Of Thrones, based on books written by Diana Gabaldon and handled by a UK-Scottish production team.

It also has what many claims is gratuitous violence and intimate sex scenes that only tend to fuel the rumors between Sam Heughan and other actors.

The series is a time-travel story, with a combination of various genres such as romance and adventure so it would appear that Sam Heughan will be spending some time in the 1900’s this time around.

Back in 2013 when TV Wise reported that Sam Heughan would play the lead role in the series, the author of the books expressed joy that the producers got the casting right.

“Oh. My. God. That man is a Scot to the bone and Jamie Fraser to the heart. Having seen Sam Heughan not just act, but be Jamie, I feel immensely grateful to the production team for their painstaking attention to the soul of the story and characters.”

The new season of Outlander premiered on April 9 and puts Sam Heughan in Paris, a notable change from Scotland.
