Chicago Bulls’ Derrick Rose Wants Accuser Of Rape To Turn Over Used Condoms

Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose had an unusual list of demands for his ex-girlfriend, who accused him and two of his friends of breaking into her apartment and gang raping her. In addition to text and photos, Rose wants his ex to turn over the used condoms from the night she was allegedly gang raped.

During preparation for a disposition in January, Rose and his attorneys submitted a request for materials concerning the case. They asked for the accuser to turn over texts, photos, and emails from Rose and his cohort. They also asked for “any and all condoms that you retained as evidence from the alleged rape.”

The accuser, identified as Jane Doe, claims Rose and two of his friends drugged her then got into her apartment later that night and raped her back in August of 2013. She is suing Rose for more than $20 million.

Derrick Rose dated the accuser from 2011 to 2013. During that time, Doe alleged Rose tried to coherence her into performing sexual acts in front of him even going as far as to ask her to have intercouse with some of her friends. Doe mentions he wanted her to engage in random sex with groups of strangers, which she declined.

Rose accuser says he and the unidentified female dated until she accused him and two of his friends — Ryan Allen and Randall Hampton — of drugging her in Derrick’s home in Beverly Hills. Hampton is Rose’s personal manager.

Doe says she escaped the house with a friend but later that night Rose and his friends broke into her apartment and gang raped her while she was incapacitated. The accuser admits she only remembers the night in “flashes.” However, she contends sex was forced.

She waited until 2015 to file suit because she was “ashamed and embarrassed” of what happened because of her conservative family. She feared them finding out what had happened to her.

Derrick Rose and his attorney accused the ex-girlfriend of trying to squeeze money out of Rose.

Lisa Cohen, a representative for Rose legal team, told TMZ Sports that the lawsuit is “an attempt to shake down a highly respected and successful athlete.”

Derrick Rose admitted to the group sex with the accuser but claims that it was common in their relationship. Jane Doe says it was not and she was forced to engage in the sexual tryst. The accuser is suing Rose for $6 million and an additional $15.6 in punitive damages.

He signed a $94 million five-year contract in 2011.

Sources do not know why Rose would make such an odd request. Nor do they know the effect the condoms will have on the case. Trial does not begin for Rose until late 2017. Around the time of his trial, Derrick Rose will be a free agent.

With the trial and his teams’ struggle, the Chicago Tribune sat down to interview Rose. They asked if he would consider leaving the Bulls amidst their troubles.

“I’ll think about that when that time comes,” Rose said. “As far as right now, the only thing I can think about is this offseason. I’ve had that mentality ever since my injuries. I learned to deal with reality and live in the moment. I feel I’m doing all I can for this team, myself and my family. And that’s all I can control right now.”

Until the trial, Rose said that he is not going to let the trial or his ex-girlfriend’s accusations change his lifestyle. Rose insists that the accuser is lying; therefore, he is focusing on completing the last year of his five-year contract with the Chicago Bulls.

Cohen says, “We have complete confidence that the case will be dismissed and that Mr. Rose will be vindicated. This lawsuit is outrageous.”
