Jessica Biel Says Baby Silas And Dad Justin Timberlake Bond Over A Surprising Interest

Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake have kept fans happy through Instagram and the glimpses of their lives that are shared on social media, particularly with shots of their son, Silas. When it comes to family, the couple are rightfully private, but every now and then they share little bits of their lives, and recently Biel opened up about the way Justin and Silas bond.

Jessica says that her two favorite guys will sit and watch golf together for long periods of time (if you’ve ever watched a golf game, you know that’s the only way to watch it), and 1-year old Silas will sit still and quiet, something pretty much unheard of in most kids his age.

“They’re like the same person. It’s like a mini version of him … They like to sit and watch golf together. The only TV that Silas is allowed to watch is the Golf Channel, which is really funny. They just sit there on the couch staring at it. And they don’t communicate anymore. When golf is on, all the communication ends,” Jessica Biel told People.

Jessica–who recently opened up her own kid-friendly restaurant–also said in the interview that she baked Silas his first birthday cake herself, secretly mixing veggies into a lemon cake.

“It was just a small family hang at the house. It was a lemon pound cake, almost. But it had zucchini in there,” Biel said.

Biel’s restaurant, Au Fudge, reportedly has a play area for kids that’s supervised by staff, so parents can sit and enjoy an adult beverage or some dessert in relative peace. But despite rave reviews for being so kid-friendly, the restaurant has received some rather negative reviews by patrons who say the food is bland and over-priced, and that there is no place to park strollers. While the restrooms reportedly offer free baby items and sanitary items for moms, some are saying that doesn’t make up for how expensive everything else is. According to the Daily Mail, the eatery offers “sole fish for $36 and a steak with fries for $45. A hamburger is $20 and a cheese plate is $22.”

Of course, Biel is busy working on her new film project, The Devil And The Deep Blue Sea, in which she stars and acts as producer. The movie allowed her to work with talents such as Jason Sudeikis and Game Of Thrones star Maisie Williams, as well as her own husband. Timberlake worked on the soundtrack for the film, so in a way, Jessica got to be his boss for a little while. However, she downplays the role, saying that he works better if he can go in and do his job without having someone standing at his shoulder.

“He’s much better left to his own devices. I mean, I like to say that I was his boss, but I wasn’t really acting as his boss. So we had a good working relationship,” Biel said.

As far as having dual roles for the movie, Jessica says it was a lot harder than it looks. Having more responsibility kept her super busy as she had to troubleshoot as well as worry about her own lines.

“There are so many more things to take care of, so many more hats to wear. Problems you have to fix. Normally as an actor you just come to set and don’t have to worry about any of the problems. I don’t have to worry about if the money is there. I don’t have to worry about if the cast is happy,” she said at the Tribeca Film Festival last week.
