Coachella Fashion: What Fashion And Beauty Trends Kendall, Kylie, Vanessa, And Other Stars Are Wearing

The 2016 Coachella Music & Arts Festival in Indio, California, is not only the place to catch a reunited Guns N’ Roses, the real final show by LCD Soundsystem, or finally see the Kills, but to celebrity watch as well. Fashion forward Hollywood is in close proximity to Coachella that the two are synonymous.

So what summer fashion and beauty trends are our favorite Coachella fashionistas sporting and what should we be wearing in the upcoming summer months?

Kendall Jenner has been a Coachella favorite, sporting some strong fashion looks. This year’s Coachella day 1 fashion statement, a camel crocheted dress is no exception. A little bit hippy, a lot flirty, this barely-there dress is elevated by a Cleopatra-esque metallic choker necklace. Kendall’s hair pulled up into identical buns, specs, and fashion forward flat sandals make for a standout fashion look. The only thing marring this look is that she was constantly seen holding up one side of the skirt. Like her fidgety lace-up shoes at last week’s MTV Movie Awards, Kendall’s Coachella clothes do not have that modern comfortable feel. Instead, her clothes continue to wear her.

Someone obviously did not tell Paris Hilton that Coachella has more of a hippie vibe than that of a dark mistress of the night. While pretty, her sheer black dress looks out of place in the midst of the sunshine and psychedelic array of fashion colors. Her strong necklace was gorgeous.

Day 2, Kendall chose to go the Paris Hilton route and tantalize Coachella concert-goers by wearing a sheer lace bralette and showing a glimpse of her nipple ring.

Hanging out at Coachella with Kendall was Kaia Gerber, Cindy Crawford’s supermodel-in-training daughter. Looking ever the supermodel, Kaia worked a fashion forward look wearing a strong choker along with edgy black shorts, top, and jacket.

But the Queen of Coachella continues to be Vanessa Hudgens. Instead of relying on wigs and color, her Coachella hair is beautifully adorned with feathers, massive curls, and braids. She looked like the cool Coachella girl in a modern caftan with a great psychedelic print. While looking like a very modern hippie, there is nothing granola about her look.

What makes Hudgen’s Coachella look even more spectacular were her nails, complete with Swarovsk crystals and gold pot leaves. This Coachella look took about 3 hours and $200 and worth all of the prep.

Not to be outshone at Coachella, Kylie Jenner tried to gain attention to herself with a peach-orange wig over a forgettable white T-shirt and jean shorts. On day 2, Kylie went with the psychedelic German milkmaid look with rainbow braids.

While Kylie may come from a famous family, she told InStyle she changes her hair color to become someone totally different from that first time she appeared in public with different colored hair.

“After that, I’ve just had this addiction to changing my hair. It makes me feel like a new person, I love feeling different and I love leaving the house knowing that nobody has ever seen me this way.”

At Coachella, Hailey Baldwin’s hair looked ravishing, with semi-permanent grey hair color. Baldwin explained to InStyle that she didn’t want to freak out her agency by dying her gorgeous locks with permanent hair color.

In a year where many Coachella concert-goers are going red or other petal-like colors, Taylor Swift has decided to go Debbie Harry blonde. Fresh off of her strong Vogue cover, Swift is recreating the ’80s bob and a signature side look for the camera. Taylor’s Coachella look looks like she went through her entire closet to look concert casual. Unfortunately, she did not find her inner Coachella girl to put together a good look.

Ubercool Iconapop singer and fashion icon Caroline Hjelt is sporting the most ravishing red and coolest jumper of the Coachella festival.

Those who miss the flower power fashion of Coachella’s past will be thrilled with Canadian performer Kiesza’s whimsical homage to the flower crown.

Katy Perry went slicked-back blue hair with a rather cheesy ladies-who-lunch look complete with cheesy turban. This retro fashion look did not fit in with the Coachella vibe and aged Perry.

Anyone who questioned Scott Disick’s attachment to the Kardashian family only has to look at this photo. Kylie is absolutely beaming at her sister’s ex-boyfriend that she found at Coachella. Kylie looked exceptionally and uncharacteristically happy. Later, Kendall has her fashion model face on, walking alongside Scott, all the while getting her fashion on, sporting yet another spectacular Coachella look.

Ellie Goudling nailed the perfect modern Coachella look with Bowie-esque space-age shorts and fashion forward ombre jacket.

Who do you think was the most fashion forward person at Coachella? Is Vanessa Hudgens still the fashion Queen of Coachella?
