Khloe Kardashian To Divorce Lamar Odom Over Financial & Emotional Drain: He Vetoes, Vows To Play Basketball Again
Khloe Kardashian is ready to finalize her divorce from Lamar Odom after he was seen drinking again in a bar just months after being found unconscious in a brothel, the result of a near-fatal combination of drugs and alcohol. Lamar spent months in a hospital with Khloe supporting him, and Kardashian even put her divorce on hold so she could make his medical decisions as his legal wife. But now that he’s gone back to boozing following his exit from the hospital, Khloe has had enough, according to People‘s insider.
Still legally married to Odom, Khloe is “ready to move on” by completing the divorce process.
For weeks, Kardashian devoted herself to ensuring that Odom had top care so that he could recover, but now Khloe is exhausted from all she’s done, added the source.
“Khloe was there for Lamar when he needed her. She spent months making sure he got the best care and was able to recover. Lamar was her main focus, and it was draining for her. Lamar is ready to be on his own now.”
Moreover, Kardashian provided not just emotional but also financial backing for Odom during those months in the hospital. She was there 24/7 in the weeks following the discovery of his unconscious body on October 13, and since leaving the hospital, Lamar even has transferred to a leased house in the same gated community in which Khloe lives so he can heal fully.
Although the Keeping Up With The Kardashians clan has welcomed Odom into their lives, Lamar also has been seen with pals at a pub drinking alcohol. And his estranged wife is frustrated that he won’t pay attention to her concern about his actions.
Kardashian has shared her feelings on Instagram, revealing that she has redefined what it means to let go of someone.
“Letting go doesn’t mean that you don’t care about someone anymore. It’s just realizing that the only person you really have control over is yourself. We have to learn to stop taking on peoples problems as if they are our own. Loving people does not mean we have to carry their burdens and confusions on our back.”
But contradicting how Khloe feels about making the divorce final, Odom wants to hold onto his marriage, according to TMZ.
And it’s not just the divorce that he won’t accept. Lamar also says that he is not finished on the basketball court.
“I still got it,” boasted Odom, vowing to return to the court and play once more.
His determination is firm despite the physical damage he suffered following his collapse in the brothel, including organ injury and multiple strokes. But just as with Khloe, he’s not letting go.
When recently questioned in an interview if he is all right with Kardashian going ahead to finalize the divorce, Lamar contended that he feels the discussion remains open.
“Everything is up for discussion,” pointed out Odom. “I mean we’ve been through a lot. It won’t ever stop.”
As for those photos that circulated showing Lamar drinking at a bar, Odom has his own spin on what happened, he told ET.
“It gets tough, especially if so much gets speculated,” admitted Lamar. “Only a few people know the truth, and I just keep that close to my heart.”
Viewers of Keeping Up With The Kardashians may be able to see some of that truth when Odom returns along with Rob Kardashian to the next season, according to the New York Daily News.
“People’s prayers for you, like saved your life,” Kourtney Kardashian tells Lamar in a preview for the upcoming season.
Returning on May 1, it’s not yet known if the new season will show Khloe re-filing papers to finish the divorce or details of why Odom began drinking alcohol again.
