Mariah Carey’s Wedding Being Filmed For Reality Show, ‘Mariah’s World’

It looks like fans of Mariah Carey can expect to see Mariah walk down the aisle with James Packer on reality TV.

Us Weekly is reporting that the Mariah and James wedding will, in fact, be featured on her upcoming E! docuseries, Mariah’s World, after a source claimed to the site that the show’s producers are heavily encouraging Carey to feature the wedding ceremony on the show.

“Her team wants it on the show,” a source close to Mariah revealed of her big wedding to the site this week, noting that Carey’s apparent decision to put her nuptials onscreen will also be given the thumbs up by her fiancé, who will “go along” with her big plans.

According to the Mariah insider, Carey’s fiancé James Packer will more than likely “go along with” Mariah’s plans to put their wedding on TV, as he “does what Mariah wants” and likes to keep the pop star happy.

Us Weekly‘s newest wedding claims go against previous reports that claimed that Carey’s relationship and subsequent wedding with her billionaire fiancé probably won’t be making its way to the small screen when Mariah’s World debuts on E! later this year.

Carey previously claimed in an interview with the New York Times that Packer would likely not be featured on her upcoming series because of important work commitments that prevented him from heading to Europe with the star for her Sweet Sweet Fantasy tour, which was filmed for the upcoming reality series.

“He’s a legit businessman,” Carey told the Big Apple publication of Packer’s involvement last month, noting that touring with Mariah is “not really his thing.”

While it’s now being reported that Carey and Packer’s wedding will, in fact, be featured on the reality series, Carey admitted in the interview last month that she’s actually looking to “show [her] personality” through the show.

“I thought it would be a good opportunity to kind of show my personality and who I am, even though I feel like my real fans have an idea of who I am,” Carey explained to the publication of the reality show in March, “A lot of people have misperceptions about this and that.”

Mariah Carey also revealed at the time that the series would not be all about her twins Monroe and Moroccan, who she claimed were “too young” to make the decision to be on camera.

“I don’t want to do anything that’s exploitative,” Mariah told the New York Times at the time, “they haven’t been filmed at all yet. There might be a couple of moments, but it’s not about making them the stars of the show. They’re too young to make that decision.”

It was previously reported that Carey’s ex-husband Nick Cannon was reluctant to have their two children featured on Mariah’s World for fears that they could end up being the next Kardashians.

In Touch Weekly claimed last month that Cannon had asked Mariah to keep their children away from the reality TV spotlight, but alleged that Carey “refuses to have any discussions with him” when it comes to their children’s involvement with Mariah’s World.

“Every time Nick tries to talk to her about it, her assistants call him back and tell him she’s unavailable,” a source close to Carey told the site, who also admitted that Cannon finds it “disturbing” that his kids could become the next Kylie and Kendall Jenner if they get too used to life in front of the lens on the reality show.

“He wants their lives to be as private as possible,” the source alleged to In Touch Weekly, “The idea that they could become reality TV stars is very disturbing to him.”
