Disney’s ‘Alice Through The Looking Glass’: Pink Just Released A New Song Featured On The Soundtrack

Disney’s Alice Through the Looking Glass is the long-awaited sequel to the 2010 Disney film, Alice in Wonderland. It is a story of triumph and empowerment as Alice deals with problems in two worlds, travels through time, and encounters Time himself in the form of a man. Her mission? She must save the Mad Hatter, played by Johnny Depp. The film will be released in theaters on May 27.

Disney’s Alice Through the Looking Glass takes viewers beyond Alice in Wonderland into a new adventure. Expect to see the old cast. Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, and Alan Rickman will all be starring in this film, but there are new additions as well, including Sacha Baron Cohen who will play Time. One simply amazing addition will be music performed by Pink. Producers include Tim Burton. The film was directed by James Bobin, according to IMDb.

Pink has just released a new single, “Just Like Fire.” The song will be featured on the film’s soundtrack. Pink has not released a single in three years and generally only releases albums, so fans will consider the single something truly unique. Also on the soundtrack is Pink’s completely re-worked arrangement of the classic “White Rabbit” by Jefferson Airplane. Jefferson Airplane fans need not worry. Pink did an excellent job of preserving the tone and spirit of the song.

For Pink, Disney’s Alice Through the Looking Glass was an amazing experience, according to Fashion & Style. Pink is a huge Disney fan. Having a young daughter of her own, she knows how important these kinds of films are to children. Her daughter, Willow, who will soon turn 5-years-old is completely obsessed with Disney films, so it is a very big thrill for Pink to play a role in creating one. The soundtracks to most Disney films have an unforgettable quality for children and young people. Pink’s “Just Like Fire” is apparently no different. Willow started singing it after only hearing it for the first time.

“It’s one of the more exciting things I’ve done in my life,”

Pink says Disney’s Alice Through the Looking Glass has a very empowering message for young girls and she loves sharing that with her daughter Willow.

“What’s awesome about Alice is the whole theme, from the start of the movie, is: Girls can do it, too. She’s the captain of her own ship, but it takes her femaleness to be that fierce, so that’s another great [message] for our house. I try to keep Willow as empowered as possible.”

Pink explained to People Magazine that Willow was very much a part of the creative process for her. She is both her inspiration and her sounding board. She watches Willow’s reactions in order to discover if the music she wrote for the soundtrack appealed to children. Willow gave the music and a special viewing of the movie a thumbs up. She cannot wait to see the movie again.

“She’s my inspiration for everything. I think of little girls like her when I’m doing something like this because I want it to be fun.”

Disney’s Alice Through the Looking Glass, though written for children, is a great film for teens and adults as well. Just like Tim Burton’s Disney classic Alice in Wonderland, the new movie has many elements that will fascinate adults and teens as well as children. These are movies that are perfect for parents and children to watch together.
