One Direction Hits Six Year Mark, But Have ‘No Direction’

Fans celebrated a special anniversary when One Direction first started forming as a band, and this event is marked by their April 2010 X Factor auditions. Sadly, despite reaching so many goals and winning multiple awards, One Direction is being told they now have “no direction” by an important newspaper in their home country.

Despite this, Niall Horan is celebrating the audition anniversary, and on April 15 he tweeted the following.

“Wow. Hard to believe that my audition was [six] years ago. Did a lot of growing up since then. Thanks for everything so far. Love ya.”

Photos posted by MTV and others reminded One Direction fans of how baby-faced all of the guys looked in those early 2010 days right before they became superstars.

Nevertheless, the Guardian newspaper in London had some harsh words for One Direction on April 14, and says that their six-year anniversary might be significant because this is the downward turning point of their careers… unless they start dancing.

According to the opinions of the Guardian, the idea of boy bands like One Direction might not come to an end if these groups start dancing and stated the following.

“Why can’t we rope in producers like Diplo or Skrillex or DJ Mustard, audition kids who know what a dance routine is and create something with a bit of energy? Let’s not allow the boy band to die. Not yet. Not like this.”

In the meantime, almost everyone that was part of One Direction at the beginning seems to be doing well. Outside of Niall Horan and Harry Styles celebrating One Direction’s sixth on social media, the rest of One Direction has been quiet.

Harry Styles is definitely going in an acting direction during the One Direction hiatus and is allegedly preparing for his role in Dunkirk by going to extremes.

According to Seventeen, Harry Styles is taking the role seriously and wants to be in top condition. For this reason Harry is rumored by insiders to be attempting a full immersion in his upcoming role by going to a remote location with no WiFi and no luxury.

Of course, fans are aware that Liam Payne intends to have a career after One Direction, but so far he has been writing music with Juicy J and perhaps Jennifer Lopez.

Otherwise, Liam Payne appears to be having the time of his life with his new girlfriend Cheryl Fernandez-Versini. The pair have been spending most of his One Direction hiatus in either Los Angeles or London, according to Daily Mail.

The one person in One Direction that does not appear to be having fun on their 2016 vacation is Louis Tomlinson. Some fans have accused Louis Tomlinson of forcing One Direction into their hiatus, but new photos from the Daily Mail seem to show that raising a baby needs the full focus of the dad.

Unlike the rest of One Direction, Louis Tomlinson was not photographed having a luxury vacation, but was instead walking his baby around in a stroller. The Daily Mail went on to describe him as looking “tired” and “unshaven.”

As for Zayn Malik, he may not be in One Direction any longer, but he was certainly there during the X Factor auditions in 2010. With success from his first solo album after One Direction under his belt, it appears that things are growing rapidly between Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid.

In fact, UnReality TV reported insider rumors about Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid that state he may have asked her to marry him in NYC around April 12.

In Simon Cowell’s world, there was no social media attention paid to the fateful day that One Direction started making him millions. Instead, Simon Cowell may be busy trying to get someone to be a judge on X Factor.

One Direction’s Liam Payne recently started dating X Factor judge, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, and she quit the show around April 5. Now, Evening Standard reports Simon Cowell needs a new team to find the next One Direction on X Factor, and he may be secretly in talks with Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh.

In other words, One Direction may be nostalgic on their sixth anniversary of auditions and anxious to see how their hiatus solo careers will fare, but X Factor and Simon Cowell are marching on… and the next One Direction might be discovered this year.
