Calvin Harris Headlines Coachella, Teases Fans Over New Music

Calvin Harris is gearing up for his headlining act at Coachella. The Scottish DJ appears to be thrilled about performing, and so is his girlfriend Taylor Swift.

The hit maker has taken to Instagram to express that he can’t wait to perform this weekend. Calvin has been announced as the first DJ to take over the main stage at the 2016 Coachella Music and Arts Festival. He shared a billboard of the event along with the caption, “Sunday!”

According to Hollywood Life, Taylor Swift is so “excited” over Calvin Harris performing at Coachella this year that she wants to take her little brother, Austin Swift. Swift has already revealed her bleached blonde hair for the music festival in Indio, California. Swift, 26, and Harris, 32, are expected to hit the festival grounds on Saturday, April 16, says the celebrity gossip blog.

“Taylor is definitely going to watch Calvin at Coachella, she wouldn’t miss his performance for the world. She’s been excited about it all week, and she’s toying with the idea of watching it from the crowd rather than back stage for the full experience.”

But that’s not all. Hollywood Life‘s source added that Taylor will be cheering on her boyfriend and that she’ll definitely be dancing like she does at award shows. Another source added that Taylor’s first-time ever trip to Coachella is for “pleasure,” and she can’t wait to enjoy the festival without having to perform.

Calvin Harris will be taking the stage on Sunday, April 17. His appearance will be strictly professional since he’s rumored to release a new song at Coachella. Harris’ fans think they already know the name of his next chart-topping song.

The Scottish DJ has been swarmed with tweets from fans asking him about new music since he only released the hot song “How Deep Is Your Love” last summer. Calvin tweeted that he would be releasing new music “soon.” He also kept repeating the phrase “it’s in Gods hands” to his fan replies.

So fans think they have the name of Harris’ new song.

According to Capital FM, Calvin has worked on a song with Ellie Goulding who’s also performing at Coachella this weekend. The two artists worked together on the hits “I Need Your Love” and “Outside,” which have close to a billion views on YouTube.

In a new interview with The Guardian, Goulding confirmed that she recorded a new song with Harris – but with a twist. The interviewer wrote that the track will feature a male singer who isn’t Justin Bieber, but Goulding wouldn’t reveal who would be singing on the track.

“That’s all you’re getting,” she coyly says in the interview.

While Calvin has been collaborating with his friend Ellie, he refuses to work with Taylor Swift in the studio. Just a week after his romantic beach vacation with the pop star, he was spotted heading back to the studio. It would be safe to say that Calvin and Taylor’s one-year relationship inspired them musically, but that doesn’t mean they’re collaborating together anytime soon.

He reportedly put his foot down and said “no” to working with the international superstar. That’s because of Calvin’s history with British pop star Rita Ora, according to The Sun. The British tabloid hinted about Calvin’s upcoming single, saying that he’s considering having Beyoncé on the track.

“Calvin’s next single is ready but the next label is keen for him to get a big female US star to collaborate on it. They know he attracts amazing names because everyone wants to work with him. They floated the idea of him working with Taylor but he politely declined it. Calvin has seen how sour things can turn when working with someone he’s dating. He is very serious about Taylor and doesn’t want to rock the boat. He’s smitten.”
