Earlier this month, there was plenty of chatter among the K-pop community when two K-pop idols from extremely popular K-pop groups — Kai of EXO and Krystal of f(x) — were rumored to be dating. Many who pledge allegiance as EXO-L, the devoted fan group of EXO, or MeU, the devoted fan group of f(x), did all they could, scrambling across the internet, searching for any news on the relationship. Eventually, SM Entertainment would come forward and confirm Kai and Krystal’s relationship to be true.
Needless to say but the K-pop community was generally in a bit of shock. Yet if one were to truly analyze the years of Kai and Krystal’s relationship, them becoming an item isn’t exactly surprising. Both started their training under SM Entertainment around the same time, and they become close friends for sharing similar interests. It was only recently that their feelings for each other evolved into something more romantic.
Now there is new chatter pertaining to another member of f(x) having the blessing of newfound love. According to rumors circulating the internet, f(x) member Victoria is supposedly dating popular Chinese actor Yang Yang.
It also does not help that Yang Yang often shares selfies of Victoria and himself on his official Weibo. There was also a post in which Yang Yang was asked if Song Qian (Victoria’s name in Mandarin) is really pretty. Yang Yang would answer it claiming that Victoria is a “goddess.”
At this moment, neither Victoria’s agency, SM Entertainment, or Yang Yang’s agency have either confirmed or denied the relationship. SM Entertainment, however, has provided an official public statement that they are currently researching the facts to find out if the reports are indeed true, as reported by Soompi.
Pertaining to each individual in the rumored romance separately, Victoria along with the other three members of popular K-pop idol group f(x) — Krystal, Amber, and Luna — released their fourth studio album, 4 Walls, back in October of 2015. Their featured song “4 Walls” peaked at number two on the Korean Gaon chart and U.S. Billboard World Digital Chart, and number one on the Chinese Baidu Chart. The song also earned a total of five awards on music shows M! Countdown, Music Bank, and The Show.
Afterwards, Victoria within f(x) held their first concert tour in January of 2016. Known as the Dimension 4 – Docking Station, f(x) had sold out performances in South Korea (Seoul) and Japan (Tokyo, Fukuoka, Osaka, Aichi).
When it comes to Victoria’s acting career, after Cocoon Town Romance, Victoria will be playing the lead role of Li Luo in C-drama Ice Fantasy. She will also be starring in an upcoming C-movie titled My Best Friend’s Wedding, a remake of the 1997 American film, while her K-movie My New Sassy Girl hits the Korean box office later this month.
As for Yang Yang, he is busy with his acting endeavors besides the upcoming C-drama Cocoon Town Legend opposite Victoria. This includes another C-drama titled Just One Slight Smile is Very Alluring and a C-movie titled Three Lives Three Worlds, Ten Thousand Miles of Peach Blossom.
