Watch Liverpool Vs. Borussia Dortmund Live Stream: 2016 UEFA Europa League Semifinal Berth At Stake In 2nd-Leg Match

Liverpool hosts German powerhouse Borussia Dortmund in what may be the most important match of the season for Liverpool. The match will stream live from the legendary Anfield football ground as the Reds fight to secure a berth in the 2016 UEFA Europa League semifinal — just one step away from a possible Champions League qualification.

Winning the Europa League is likely the only chance Liverpool have for a return to the UEFA Champions League for only the second time since the 2009-2010 season, after playing in Europe’s top-flight club competition in nine out of 10 seasons starting in 2001 — and winning the Europe-wide championship in 2005.

One week ago, Liverpool traveled to Dortmund and shocked the Bundesliga second-place side by scoring an away goal while conceding only one of their own. The 1-1 aggregate score means that Liverpool advances on either a victory or a 0-0 draw.

But the Reds will be facing a rested and mostly-healthy Borussia Dortmund side after the German team was forced to go without star international midfielder Ikay Gundogan in the first leg. But Gundogan, who saw limited playing time in Dortmund’s league match against Schalke over the weekend, is expected back at full strength when Dortmund comes to Anfield

Liverpool comes into the match off of three straight impressive performances, including the unexpected away draw at Dortmund. That solid performance was sandwiched between a crucial Barclays Premier League match in which Liverpool held streaking Tottenham Hotspur to a 1-1 draw at Anfield on April 2, and last weekend’s 4-1 league destruction of Stoke, also at home.

Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. British Summer Time at Anfield in Liverpool, England, on Thursday, April 14. That’s 3 p.m. United States Eastern Daylight Time, noon Pacific.

The boisterous home crowd usually provides an advantage for Liverpool when playing at home. Though, on Thursday, Liverpool fans and visiting Dortmund fans were seen getting more friendly than usual, singing the Liverpool theme song, “You’ll Never Walk Alone,” together in the streets of the northwestern English city.

The visiting Dortmund fans are expected to display a large, yellow and black mosaic of the number 96 just prior to the match, in tribute to the 96 Liverpool fans who lost their lives in the 1989 Hillsborough Stadium tragedy.

Liverpool sits eighth on the Premier League table, nine points in back of Manchester City, who occupy the fourth and final Champions League qualification slot. Thursday’s match is the first of three in seven days for Liverpool, who face Bournemouth away on Sunday, followed by a mid-week Merseyside Derby against Everton at home on Wednesday.
